I have never had luck with Same Sex Pits as a house Pet
Male female has some challenges but over all works well for me .
The play time & sleeping near or with each other out weighs
    the occasional scrap .
Some one wants to give me a puppy - half lab and half Beagle
It's tempting but then I think how used to Bulldogs I am an i'd feel bad for my male to end up with a mate that Ruff housing wont be it's thing further more
if the pup takes after the hound more than Lab . I have heard hounds get caught up
with sent and might get lost in the woods and take my home body male along for the ride.I read about the mix and for some people it's desirable but no way to predict what
    temperament will dominate .

My question is why is someone wanting to give you a puppy? That sounds dodgy to me, like they're trying to offload an unwanted pup on to some sucker. Also, i would be very careful about being pressured into taking on a dog just because someone else thinks it's a good idea.

WTF?! Dog needs a companion??? Same sex pits in the house???? Occasional scrap?? You're BEGGING for trouble... Don't get any dogs you know NOTHING about!! Labs are sometimes aggressive, especially the big chocolate ones I've seen! Get you some cats. They live good together! Lastly. YOU'RE THE DOG'S COMPANION!!! APBT don't need other dogs as companions, they need ppl! This shouldn't even be a discussion!!

My male dogs has torn apart 3 door frames (unlike him)
Yes he is different feeding time is more relaxed but he is eating less . He used to run with female and play thats what they did together . You know how that breed plays. She raised him from a puppy .
She had no affection for him , she played and it was like she kept him in-line . But they were one just the same .
What I meant is I had in the past same sex pits and for me it was a no-go , but male female I manage well . Not to say I could manage high drive dogs ok . But I had a fine situation.
I have the respect to realize a new mate is not to be taken lightly . I have decided I will keep him alone or with another well researched spayed female Pit or a puppy to be spayed with a temperament that fits my need .
The final dog I want as a Bucker List dog is a Staffordshire bull terrier or a small APBT under 35 pounds.
I'm in no rush . If I pass on the concept Then he might be my last .
