A dogs worth is usually merited by his accomplishments but that dont always mean that a dog with more accomplishments is better then a dog with less accomplishments. Also price doesnt always equal quality as there are cheaper dogs that are of better quality then the more expensive ones. In general a dogs worth is what ever someone is willing to pay for it.

Well said mopmaster. Im from S.C. yet i myself traveled 2000 miles round trip to purchase a pair of pups from Lady Rage ''rip'' of Rampave kennels in Oklahoma. Also i drove another 1900 miles round trip to buy a pair if pups from Stone Row Kennels in Pennsylvania. I wanted something different. I do not regret my decision. I say go for it. 3k to the door for outstanding Proven working stock is a gamble worth taken. Tom G . In some cases charges any where from 1200- 2500 a pup. Imo, if you do your part with the pups, they will do theres as well. No guaratee they will turn out. Yet as said in prior post, Those houndd are turning out more often than not. Good luck to you.

Broke dicks??? That's who started and CONTINUE the breed! The high dollar dogs are a VERY low percentage of gamebred dogs. Not pitbulls, gamebred dogs. You talkin bout the elite, NBA, NFL, MLB of dogs which the majority of ppl aren't involved with! Real life dictates what's worth what. It's hard for the average workin man to buy anything but a car or house down payment for 10k+! These dogs are a hobby to most, not for makin money! If you after money, try horses or gray hounds... I wouldn't pay more than 1k for a "pup" 3k for a proven game, winner. Fuck it, I'm a broke dick... But these ones I got that I paid waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less for ain't let me down yet. If they do, I'll get 4-6 more pups for 3k depending on who I call and how many I get! That high dollar attitude is a Dboy/high roller mentality... More isn't always better.

Why the fuck does EVERY thread get a Garner reference?? He makes a livin breeding off guys like Mop Master! "3k is what they should cost." That's why Tom breeds all yr and has 40-60 pups on the ground AT ALL TIMES!! 40* 1000= 40k monthly. Helluva income on pups and dogs! Guy has ok dogs, ppl like to spend with him to say they got a Garner dog. Ok. Next.... There are plenty of ppl with better and CHEAPER dogs! No offense to Tom, he makin that paper, but damn.... Shouldn't he get at least 20-30 good dogs out of the 40-60 pups he breeds?? That's average to most ppl 50/50. I ain't sayin its higher or lower just an example. Is 50/50 worth 12-1500 or would you rather call ol "so and so" and get one for 4-600 wit the same or also higher 50/50 chance??? You don't always get what you pay for....

I do agree these dogs should be for working men, not dope boys like MopMaster is suggesting. 10K for a dog is fuking ridiculous. The dope boys are a problem to the dogs IMO, not the other way around.

most dope boys are fly by night, eventually get bagged and whole
yard killed, or even worst turn snitch.

Who else pays 10K for a dog besides dope boys?

People who 10 racks is not a big deal too will buy dogs lIke that because they can. That's many different types. I'm not one of them, not saying I wouldn't like to be

On the other hand though, just because one can afford that kind of price tag doesn't necessarily make them a serious dogman either. Just means they access to that kind of coin. I look at it like this, if those pups are worth it to you and that kind of money for them isn't a big deal to you then bite the bullet and hand it out. Dogs are worth what someone is willing to pay. I once not so many moons ago got a 2x +1 otc that easily could have went for #3 for $2500 + 2 pups from his first breeding. Later that year was offered his very well known 1/2 brother for 10 g's who is a legit 5x treadmill race winner in phenomenal condition still. Point is, the price tag don't define the animal or the person buying it.

To the OP, if you like that blood and feel it's worth that price then jump on it and time will tell you if your investment pans out. Good luck with what you decide.; )

In my humble opinion there are many many "very serious dogmen" who don't have 10K to blow on a dog. Does that make them less of a dogman? Or maybe less of a gambler? IMO, it'd fall under the latter one. A person doesn't have to be a gambler to be a dogman. If I had to choose one to be, I'd much rather be a dogman than a gambler anyways.

Cheap shit ain't good and good shit ain't cheap. Thats how I see it. If the dogs behind the pup are worth it and you believe they are, and the pup is healthy... go for it. If you work, gamble, or hustle for your money then spend it accordingly...

We all have got lucky enough to own good ones for cheap and that's great. But when we are seeking to buy quality gamebred pups from serious dogmen or dogwomen you aren't just paying for the pup. What about the time the breeder has put in. Don't forget your paying for some of the prior work the breeder put in by putting his life on the line.

The way I see it is if the breeder is legit and has done prior work not just fed them, I can see the price of a pup being sort of high unless you know them... then it could possibly be free. 600-800 is all I want to pay for a pup+transport = 800-1200 that's enough.

you dont have to be rich to be a "dog man" (whatever that is....lol), but you do need to show dogs....and if you do, well....then hey, your going to do what you need to do to ensure the future of your yard.
