Hey, been on the forum for a couple weeks and thought I'd introduce myself. Grown up in a farming family and spent most of life up to this point helping my family training and breeding stock and hunting dogs. Main breeds I've been involved with are Kelpies and Blue heelers for stock work and staghounds, wolfhounds and greyhound crosses for hunting. In the last few years I got heavily into feral pig hunting with dogs and ended up getting my first purebred APBT and since then it's been a love affair. I currently only own one dog, a 1/4 kelpie, 1/4 APBT 1/2 wolfhound bitch who's getting a little long in tooth after catching me literally 1000's of pigs due to a move away from areas with feral pigs but as her she's getting old I'd love to get an APBT pup from good hard working lines to start working on. Anyway, I don't claim to be some master dogman with a wealth of experience but have seen a thing or two with working dogs and would love to share with like minded people and hopefully learn a bit more about these awesome dogs. I'll also attatch some photos of dogs I've bred in the last two years that are currently catching friends some good pigs. 20150407_152423__1433468956_147.69.138.174.jpg 20150406_190133__1433468660_147.69.138.174.jpg 10409249_559405417534720_2251874439087467709_n.jpg 20150403_155922__1433467969_147.69.138.174.jpg 20150406_135715__1433468236_147.69.138.174.jpg

Welcome aboard. I wasn't aware you all had feral hogs over in Australia. That's cool, keep you all busy chasing them down. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah there's plenty of em getting round. Depends on where you are obviously but pretty much the entire northern half of the country has a feral pig population

Welcome to the site. U hunt the mountains, farms or what in OZ. lot of pigs down there. Far more than most areas here in the states. I like the bull Arabs yall run. Impressive dogs.

Depends where I go. Have hunted some of the mountain country in nsw, also hunted huge open acreage further north on big cattle properties and crops as well. My first hunting dog was a bull arab but he got taken by a crocodile on a hunt up in the northern territory. I think I've seen you on ozziedoggers shotgun?
