Shouldn't have posted as most didn't use the original cajun rules, they used the 10 second count variation. In the original rules, the dog must immediately scratch and cannot hesitate or stop after the ref says release. It must be a continued effort. It is a very important distinction between variations. It was put in place to shorten the length of the contest and ensure willingness to continue. Like I said, most never realized or understood that rule. They just assumed the 10 second variation.

Would a bottem feeder that takes bottem be considered a gamblers delight???
Old Dirty Dixons partner had the black rascal dog that would lay around long enough to dismantle em and go to the top and finish...
ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [70802] :: GEEHAD KENNELS' BLACK RASCAL (MEADE'S RASCAL)
Dirtys old partner is a piece of shit named jo glo( joe glover) from pittsburgh, joe sold rascal to Mr.Ratliff for wsk'cowboy money and had rascal stolen back...
Ratliff had bounty out on joes head, not the only one as jo glo also helped land Mr.Hargroves behind bars... Be weary of jo glo!!!...

Would dogs that took bottem be considered gamblers delight???

I believe it's all a gamblers delight. You know your dogged what to expected out of he/she. The question Is what's coming from the opposite corner. An we all know sometimes the better charger comes up on the bad end of the run.

Ch. Angel went into a beehive for #2. They played the ride around game, we lost the spot and going to another spot, after the long delay and extra ride Ch. Angel was light. Over a pound.

We combined. Every one had input but the owner of the dog made had the final say and everyone had to respect that call and honor his end of the money. We said don't pull in, keep driving, screw them and their games. The owner decided to give it a go.

To the heavier dog Angel took the bottom/was forced to the bottom. We had bet all we had to bet and then bet some we didn't. After thirty minutes of being on the bottom, ol'girl on the top fell over and the fat lady was warming her vocal chords and it was time to warm the bus.

This is the exception. Most that spend significant amounts of time on the bottom usually stay on the bottom. She had done it before in a roll but it was nothing I would say, "hey, let's up the bet 'cause we are on the bottom!".

A Gambler's Delight can only be truly appreciated by a true Gambler, not a true dog man. A true dog man is putting every odd in his corner for the benefit of his dog not using a dog for the benefit of his pocket. The reality is there are no pure dog men, cause every time out is a gamble, every dog man has to have a little gambler in him. On the other hand the pure gambler could give a shit about the dog so anything that is a Gambler's Delight is usually at the expense of a good dog.

Heard this story over a campfire with a lot of alcohol involved. S

If a Gamblers delight is one that lays around for 30-40 minutes before really getting going I don't believe theres any place for it. You will die playing that game.

If youre talking about a defensive dog that takes bottom or uses strategic holds to stay out of trouble while letting the other work itself into exhaustion then thats different. Enough of those that look as if theyre getting thrashed when in reality no real damage is being done and the other with all the flash has worked itself off its feet.

The dogs i'm referring to will fight hard defensivwly or offensively, however while doing so they might whine if he is getting the mouth on him....never stopping tho....the majority knows what comes after a whine...stopping, the dog in question may not have the wagging tail or tails not up....but does not stop and did not stop, even won 2 weight pulls. Would this be a gamblers delight after the opposing teams sees this. Only touches mouth or nose. What is this then?

Yeah I don't know I'd maybe call that a funny acting dog. Not necessarily a gamblers delight.

First off you need to give your definition of what you think a Gamblers delight is as do the rest of yawl.
