petsmart

i took my male lab to petmart a while ago and they had 1(female) a.p.b.t from a foster home and i was looking at all the dogs but when i came by that cage with my dog i nearly broke down the cage to get out. I thought females were less agressive towards males, my female at my friends house is not agressive towards males. she is agressive towards other females thought. what is the differrence with that female at petsmart ?

 

All dogs are different and have various degrees of dog aggressivness, prey drives ,ect.. Alot also will only tolerate dogs they've been raised with and be "Agressive" towards strange dogs.. it could be the breeding behind the dog.. I have females who dont care for either males nor females and have a much higher prey drive than my males.. (the opposite of your friends dogs)

But theres no specific reason..some do, some dont..

That is just the way it goes. One of the most dog aggressive dogs toward males and females I ever owned was a 44 pound female I had back in the late 80s. That little girl would want a piece of any dog she seen. Man, that brings back memories LOL!!

Been dealing with this since she "turned on" at 18 mo, at a whopping 34lbs!!!
