  1. Which historical dogs would you say contributed the most to this breed? Which would you say are the most important to remember?

    Three most important Bulldogs are Colby's DIME, Tudor's DIBO and Carver's BLACK WIDOW...
    Equally as important as these three INDELIBLE BULLDOGS,are the three MEN behind them...
    Most important overlooked factor is the WOMEN behind these MEN and their BULLDOGS...

    I think you would have to add Fitzwater s Goldie to that list.

    ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [451] :: COLBY'S DIME
    ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [9] :: TUDOR'S DIBO (3XW)
    ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [8] :: CARVER'S BLACK WIDOW
    good choice for#4 Bamaman...
    ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [55] :: TRAHAN'S RASCAL (6XW)
    ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [432] :: FITZWATER'S GOLDIE (4XW)
    Trahans Rascal could possiblly #5...
    These five dogs from mid century dominate alot of modern pedigrees...

    Eli,Bolio, Redboy and Art's Missy passed these genes to the future...
    These are the more fimilar names, probably cause they were in such great demand...
    There is others that carry the blood and some successful families that dont, But behind a majority of todays greats the Dime Dibo cross is most prodominate...

    These are arguably the 3 most important dogs in the history of the breed, notice I said dogs, not bitches.

    I'm sure there are way more unknown dogs that have contributed to the breed by private dogmen and dogmen not allowed to be part of the "scene," specially in the pre 1970's era.

    It is truly amazing that of the excellent dogs and dogmen that are known thru accepted and documented history how many more there actually have been.

    I agree to a certain extent, but if it was worth while it was usually documented...
    I think there alot more contributers to todays dogs than most would like to admit...
    Carson I am sorry if you got your dogs from Ziggy, if that is where this stems...

  19. Carson

    Carson Pup

    Exponentially and other various reasons, of course there are more contributors, admittedly or not.

    It stems from factual history, documented or not. It has nothing to do with the time and effort Ziggy has put forth for the breed, despite your indictment.

    This is B.S.
    The 'scene' or 'core' of the game as some have called it has actually been quite small. There never were very many people actually doing dogs on a consistent basis, I mean real dog men and women. There have always been many fringe players, hangers on and wannabe dogmen. The real players who had not only the weights and dates but the showspots too were rare.
    Do the math, just say there were an average of 10 people per state that fit that description, that's 500 people nationwide and that's a huge overestimate, few states even had 10 active people.
    So Carson, name a few of these unknown dogmen and unknown dogs, I bet they don't exist.
