  1. WHAT ARE THE SIGNS of antifreeze poisioning.

last time i been to the vet, paid $800 in tests to not fix the problem... but for htem tell me my dog needs a 1500$$ surgery to cure him i didnt do the surgery and his problem resolved on its own. so i dont want to takem y dog to hte vet because of this. they will charge me 1k+ i already know. dont have that kind of money as i live paycheck bhy paycheck.

45 minutes after my dog licked a puddle of antifreze i gave him a bowl of milk. (to help dilute the poision) and so far hes acting normal.... happened at 2 pm .. its now3:20 am and hes acting normal... no signs of abnormal behavior...

will only take my dog to the vet if needed.
i dont have the money so i cant take him to the vet now. and my gut is telling me he is fine because hes acting normal... but any signs that he acts abnormally. i will rush him to the vet...

Some of the new types of coolant are suppose to be less toxic as some in the past. Fingers crossed for u and the lil pup.

Good luck to you and your pup. If this already happened before, I'd be doing more to keep stuff out of the dogs way.

You can give the dog some peroxide with water. 1tsp. Per 10 pounds no more then 3tsp. This may help the dog to vomit which will bring up the antifreeze. Good luck

how do i make my own? and would it be useless if its been over 24 hours? its been 24 hours almost and my dog seems to be doing fine. so he should live right? well he seems SLIGHTLY less energetic but thats because when i see him, he is on the chain so hes thrilled to see me because he hasnt seen me in a few hours... but now he slept in my bed... so i guess there is no reason for him to be super energetic.

i googled and the anti freeze is 95% of the toxic that is suposed to be hazardous. not the least toxic one(prop something. i forgot the name)

but thank u for keeping ur fingers crossed for my hound. i appreciate it

first time it happened. the anti freeze was high up on a work bench in a garage. the dog literally jumped on the bench to get it... never expected this to happen... i dont know what got into him... but thank u . i appreciate it. will keep u guys updated

i did this. didnt help. but i also used old peroxide. i read that it should be unopened so maybe thats why.

yes but surely there would be symptoms and not an instant death.

I understand that might be the case but that again falls on you. If the dog was supervised or properly contained, that would of never happened. With these dogs, you have to expect the unexpected. Again, good luck.

And also, I've noticed the only time the forum hears from you is when you have problems with your dog. Maybe you could come here and do some reading as to how to properly contain your dog and what to do or look for shall something ever come up. Things will always arise with animals and a little effort educating yourself before a problem arises will always pay off in the long run. Forums won't always be there to help you, I'd take advantage of the knowledge already shared on here for you own benefit. Once again, good luck.

Good luck with the dog, first thing I would do when I had a day off would be shop around for a vet that's not out to price gouge you.You will eventually need a vet for something. And never let the dog around anywhere that it could get into trouble. I'm a real turd anytime someone drains antifreeze around my place,it's dangerous and needs to be gotten rid of.I'm always nervous something will get into it so I don't tolerate it puddling up. Anyway,no much I can say that hasn't been said.Good luck.

alright fellas and ladies!! its been 5 days since my dog ate the anti freeze poisioning and he is doing great!!! just proves once again the vets are money hungry littleroaches and dont care about your dogs.

VET TECHS care about your dog more than VETS. Vets are mostly after the money and want to hustle you. love vet techs!! try to speak to them fellas for dog advice, not the vets, they will just use any excuse to bring ur dog in.

fucking LOL at the vet telling me a few licks can kill my dog and he needs to be taken in.... yet my dog drunk about 1/2 cup of anti freeze and is doing great. i just poured a huge bowl of milk to dilute the anti freeze and it worked.

this is why i dont believe in vets.

i learned my lesson the first time when i lost 600$$ and then the vet says my dog needs a 1500$ surgery to fix the issue or will have to put down. i give it 2 weeks, and the dogs bleeding magically stops... and its been good ever since!!

i want to thank you all of you for comforting me and for some advice during this tough time.

anyways dog is great. thanks everyone =]

also my dog has a perfect chain setup outside. but i had to bring him in because of the bad storm we had. didnt feel it was right for him to be out there in a heavy storm ....

the chainsetup i use is from california jack tips and tricks . i followed it to the T. and the dog house is the one that boogiemanblood posted. its a very good setup.. only issue was brining him into the garage and underestimating him... never again. learned my lesson. never letting htis happen agian!

...well good lesson learned...????....i guessed he did'nt take a-lot spec;the way ya said he was acting.ok..eating ok/etc...it's all-way's a good idea to have active carbon around in case of poisons with your dog's...........on the other side of the coin if your dog is at deaths door don't hesatite to bring to a vet...
