Ice in dogs water?

    They do, over time they learn to leave them alone though. Most that is.

    Im not a vet tech i work in a Hospital OR. I went to Vet tech school like 14 years ago lol.

    I've been putting a few ice cubes in their water for well over 20 years. No problems at all. In hot weather they melt within minutes anyway.

    Thats why I post the thread. My girl has been putting a whole tray of ice cubes in each of their water buckets almost everyday for years and Ive never had bloat or any other adverse reaction from doing it. I didnt google it first ( which i normally would do) before posting the thread though. I never even heard of anything bad happening from giving ice in the water so I wanted to see if anyone had ever expierenced any issues with doing so. Glad to read its just urban legend.

    Yeah it's hard to believe. Just to let you know I talked to my friend about this and he tells me his dogs stay outside year round in Lithuanian winter and they eat snow for water.
