Hello Game Dog community from South Florida

He all, I have been lurking her for quite some time and figured I may as well join your community.

My pup Camo is a "nothin' special" bulldog\catahoula mutt that was abandoned at a week old and I foster to adopted him.

I got him from a rescue at 5 weeks and he looked a little on the skinny and underfed side:


Here is a pic of my lil mutt from a little over a month ago when he hit 5 months, looking a bit better than the skin and bones pup I picked up from the rescue.


I have the utmost respect for the well bred dogs though, and maybe somewhere down the line one will be in the cards for me.

I like those BULLCATs, seem to be two breeds that compliment eachother well for baying and catching.
I was on another sites 12 page thread about fla curs and learned alot thier history.Basically a bulldog and a hound dog crossed and culled.Along history over 100 years.Some say the originals are extinct and some just recreate the cross.
Hell getem out there hunting and see if hes a fla cur type cross.Interesting to me is the origins of fla curs,tn.mtn curs and the carolina plotts are all very similar types of bulldog hound crosses.The same exact origins of MAYDAY, who offspring carry that classic hound bulldog traits,gritty and game...Makes me wonder....

Thanks for the welcomes! I probably won't be doing any catching with him. I only own the one dog, live in the suburbs, and don't know anyone that hunts down here. If that changes by the time he is 18 months or so I would love to start working him towards catching though. His life will most likely just be a family house dog that pulls me around the neighborhood on my longboard.

He is very driven and focused though, even for a pup of his age. So I may need to get him into some type of work to give him a job to do. He has a good nose, high prey drive, and seemingly endless energy even for a pup. Time will tell as he matures the direction I go with him.
