Yeah broly hasn't managed to break neither of the leads I got from Shane.1 is 10ft the other is 25ft.However I also ordered a 6 footer and the clamp on the handle wasn't closed tight enough so when the dog pulled the handle loop got smaller and smaller. No big deal though and ill def order more stuff from stillwater.

I'm a big fan of his collars and I have a couple that outlasted the dogs, and the rest are six to eight years old. Never had an issue with the three ply or the four ply collars I have purchased.

But I agree with AGK, the snap failures are more third party than Shane/Stillwater. I make my own leads. I buy the 5/8 rope, rope clamps and snaps from Tractor Supply or Horse.com. I bought three snap hooks, even a little beefier than the ones pictured from Tractor supply, and the first one failed just like yours. Maybe the spring died or opened and did not return to the stop, I am not sure. Luckily mine broke on a young dog and he just ran around for a while til I finally caught him. A month or so later the next one just broke in half, right at the crown of the snap, where the collar ring would rest. This one was on an older dog who was set on ready. It was not a fun experience being with two dogs who were really happy with their chance encounter.

It happens. Manufacturers cut corners for profit all the time. It sucks we are the po' sumbitches patching up dogs because of their profit margins. S

You still have to keep an eye on the bull Snaps over time the little spring will pop out of place.

True. Anything with moving parts will eventually fail. S

Also try and put a couple drops of oil on the snap and moving parts once in a while.
