Hargroves Rufus

Lets see them Rufus dogs? anybody got any? used the search function, doesn't seem to pop up any info on this bloodline.

 

Seems not to many with them, or the ones who do have them keeping them close. I've seen most of what pops up come down from Croc or ST. B's Meanie. The more better ones are a blend of dogs down from both. Besides that I'm waiting to see also.

 

Good observation MUDVILLE,the blood worked better outcrossed which ST.BENIDICTs liked to do and CROC & MEANIE
stuff seems to be more consistant.THE OLD MAN sold OUTLAW as RUFUS was faster and throwing faster offspring.
He figured if he added his good friends MR.BOB FINLEYs best stud dog BO, that it would add some bottem end(CROC).
The RUFUS blood was so tight and so strong that it didnt matter what he added the RUFUS phenotype was previllant.
He admired the bootemend that OTTERs yard offered so he bought them out to cross with the RUFUS stuff he had.
The HELLBEND/TONKA helped but he latter admitted that the OUTLAW stuff were way more ballanced & consistant.
The ZDOG(HELLBENDZ,GRCH HELLBENDs son)was used against CH.BENNY BLANCO in hopes ZDOG could outscratch BENNY.With not knowing anything about BENNY he knew the blood was RANK as BENNY latter proved with NINO.
Also good friend "DIRTY"DIXON rip used a RUFUS TURTLEBUSTER charge against the OLD MAN who used a TONKA cross.They got into a scratching contest with something like fortyone in a hour and a half with the RUFUS charge packing it in.THE OLDMAN teased that was the gamest RUFUS dog he seen.THE OLD MAN got RUFUS dad for free as he quit (maybe against his son RUFUS if i recall right).
The RUFUS cross that I like is the MEANIE ex Lees RENO stuff that was bred to the RAGE dog that produced the bro & sisCH.SON OF SAM & GRCH.GRACIE,can anybody share thier story?

I don't consider Ch. Baby a Redboy dog at all. I consider her a Medlins outlaw bred hound. Redboy and Medlins outlaw blood was and is used with good results. A lot of Mimms blood use this as there out.

 

Or you could call it COTTINGHAM blood,more medlins OUTLAW than REDBOY,but never the less TEAL's JEFF blood.
Yes i consider the COTTINGHAM blood redboy as a quick reference/relation .As you know CAROLINA has two OUTLAWS and i didnt want to get them confused in my post as if someone in TEXAS talking "RUFUS" would be different than "RUFUS" blood on the eastcoast.THE COTTINGHAMs proved to have the BEST TEALs JEFF blood generation after generation like the Tuckers have proved thier ol Carver blood generation after generation,something to admire.

 

Very true, I had a good one off a Medlins outlaw, Mimms happy combo (a typical Mimms cross).Great animal sorry owner lol. His was my OTC hero lol. Mimms had so many combos, but I don't believe some see that. He had his line bred stock for breeding, but the out crosses were putting in work. All his stock of course.

Sounds like DIRTYs dog DEBORAH,MR.MIMs blood was special to DIRTY and thier YOCUM stuff was nice.
Back to the subject of RUFUS dogs,His owner liked MIMS stuff too,but i would agree that thier heads were to big and they were too slow. His main stock at least ,the crosses seemed better.

 

I remember Deborah when she was at that house he moved to with the young dogger. I had one of man man, that was a game son of a bitch.
I had a Rufus dog of Barr caymans jimmy. He was a very good prospect who was rolled against an RCC 1x I believed named bear ( black in color) Dirty had. He did very good, and I must say was my very first bulldog.

Dirty had no winners from rcc on his yard, rcc kept giving him prospects and Dirty hid them for safe keeping and valued them higher than anything else he had never matching them.Rcc gave the old moonshine dog to him because Dirty hated white dogs.It ended up being his favorite dog looking like the old white rock dog of the past.when Dirty died he had at least 40 dogs, while we were at his funeral in miss about 8 of his dogs were stolen 6 from rcc including moonshine and opal.Not mentioing any names but the short blue fuckers ended up with them and rcc called the sherrif and got them back.Is that pic of moonshine with the pond him, behind the house your talking about?
an ol big carver dog that ran loose in the back yard with the other dogs? No ped right, thats dirty to use anything.
Deborah was sold two or three times with the buyers being sent to war in one case and jail in the other and Dirty got her back, she was stoln twice and he got her back also,he said she won at least 10 otc as he was busy in the navy.

one would have thought that a six time winner and rom dog would have been better preserved. Rufus must have been a good one because he made rom with only 32 offspring.
