We all know this breed is very determined and very stubborn. I'm sure we all come across situations everyday when we have to deal with overly stubborn dogs. What are some of these stubborn situations that you deal with and how do you handle them?

Right now I'm dealing with a stubborn dog who's in heat and lastnight for some reason she decides she no longer wanted to sleep in her house. She has clean, dry straw and she's been sleeping in this house just fine since her arrival here. Lastnight she laid out there on the ground next to her house for a couple hours and then when I went to bed I went out and put her in the above ground kennel to see if she'd go in the house in the kennel. I woke up this morning to this stubborn ass dog laying outside of the house in the kennel. I've associated this stubbornness with being in heat right now so I'm personally just letting her work through it on her own, since she's used the house before I'm not worried about her using it again. I'll continue to let her sleep outside the house until she comes to her normal senses.

What have you dealt with or what are you dealing with right now and how did you handle it??

Key, does it matter if it's old or not?? I have a dog that doesn't like bread but I haven't tried OLD bread, it's always fresh.

in that conditining its easyer to find out if they are not wel . and what is the problem .
other wise its difficult to understand if they are sick or just no feeling to eat

Yes Dex, I believe thats a good part of it. I've had dogs act differently in heat before, most are what I'd call "emotional", they seem to get their feelings/spirit hurt easily. But I've had some act stubbornly also and I believe that's mainly what her situation is. First thing this morning I went out and put her back on her chain and gave her some love and fed them. Since then, she sat around a little while outside of her house and went in her house and that's where she is now. I'm outside with the dogs more than I'm anywhere else so she gets to spend alot of time with me and I bring them in the house individually so they each get their own house time with me also. I knew she would work out this situation with herself, I thought maybe this thread might stir up some good stubborn dog remedies for other situations people may face.

Understood Key, thanks! I was trying to put weight on her quickly a few weeks ago and I dried out a few pieces of bread in the oven and crumbled it up in her food along with soft boiled egg. She picked through the food and ate the meat but didn't touch the bread. I'll start leaving some bread out so it will get old and I'll try what you said when I have a dog acting sick. This dog eats well and she is IMO right at "ideal weight". In general though, she is a really stubborn dog, it's not just this situation.

Possibly too much count music. Walking my dog its takes like 20 minutes to get a block away she wants to smell every tree, bush, spot where neighbors trash can sits on trash day possible. Once we get 3-4 blocks away she is hot to trot. Bitches be crazy you know.

Naw man, they like my music too. It motivates them like it does me...you might wanna try some dolph out man. My dogs would probably take 20 mins to get a block to if I let them but we're walking for exercise, not to sniff shit and piss so I don't let that go down.

Went I get home my dog has been crated for a few hours so she adapts to being outside for the first 15-20min then we march for like an hour. Throw some more links up in the music section.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it, man. Just keep her place ready for her..she'll either use it or she won't.

lol The dog got over it real quick fellas, thanks. The thread is really supposed to be about stubborn things your dogs do and what you did to work them through it. I think it would benefit some newer dog owners. There is no thread about stubborn dogs so I made one.

Yea peon, that's what I did. She was in there that night. She is a stubborn little shit though, it was raining 2 days ago and the dumb dog was hanging out underneath her shade house getting a little wet. Finally I took her shade house from her so she had to go in her house for shelter. It worked, she went in.
