Help Please new to pitbulls

My pitbull is 14 months I got him at 9 months he was afraid of
me now he let me pet him but he's scared. He never barks and
afraid of people hides behind me when people approach.
He ripped my doors apart (2), ate 4 tennis balls,.. Now he sits
lay but won't do anything else. It's hard to keep his attention. I can say more
but you get the picture. HELP Please

 

...if he is ok with other dogs/dog....bring him out with him/her,,mite help an build up his confidence,,some lines produce off-spring like this more than others...ya don't want him to bite anybody out off fear....so your going to have to do a-lot of work with this type...an stop giveing tennis balls,they(bits) can block up the gut and kill your dog.....chances of him changeing now are very small,,,if you had him since a pup,why did you not put the work in from 9-months...............??????????????????????

 

Well I tried to but damu wouldn't let me rub him
or wouldn't follow my commands so I gave up.
I really just feed him I hope he show me some affection

Think ya should get rid and not keep dogs of any type......get a gold-fish......

 

yea its going to take a lot of work to deal with those issuses....w/e you do don't breed him. It could be a result of bad breeding. Hes gonna need intense help to over come it. It sucks but you might want to consider putting him down instead of living life panicked all the time. Had a dog like that once my wife picked up from a byb. It was no fixing it, and having a dog like that get loose was to much for me to risk. If your willing to put the work in you might be able to over come it, but you might just want start reaserching the breed and find a reputable program in your area to get a healthy pup from..either way good luck. Damu that's Swahili right?

 

Yeah I hate when I have to sleep on the floor with my dogs. You're lucky it was only two days, I slept on the floor for two weeks. Now I love sleeping on the floor and I let him sleep on the bed, works out great.

Well I don't think I can't care for a dog. I got him late so it's hard to teach
a dog that haven't been taught anything and abused. I do believe That he
was beat because of his scary ways and jumping, lack of trust in humans.
Yes I think im going to take your advice and get rid of him but I don't want
them to kill him. He looks great more like a bully than pit when I first got him he was skinny. Now I'm just make excuses y'all right it time to let go!!!!

Lmao, I really hope you are not that gullible that you actually think I would sleep on the floor with my dog for two weeks and in turn let him sleep on my bed. If so please send me what you're smoking.

 

you and your damn periods and question marks all the time lol ... it seems to me you posted looking for a magical answer, but theres no one simple answer/solution that will fix it all or replace hard work and dedication. You need to work with your dog a lot. You said you gave up before, well thats why he aint how you want him, gotta stay consistent, learn and try diff approaches if one just isnt working. Do some readups on timid dogs and what not, just dont give up, that is my advice to you. Once you find something that helps, spend lots and lots of time working it. To give you an idea my boy wont drop stuff sometimes, so i figured out how to get him to drop it and worked it for about an hour or until he seemed consistant, next day did it again, and again, and again .... keep working it and i wish best of luck to ya...keep us posted

 

srry, also sounds like he likes tennis balls, so get a tougher ball i talked about one in my lastest thread with pictures of my dogs, use that ball to encourage and walk with him more. build up a relationship and get him exercise and use his ball/treat to help..another idea...

 

might help if you change his name. it aint no damus in chi-town they dont play that shit.
