Great to be on here. I'm an APBT appreciator from Oz, and have just acquired a beautiful little Jeep/Redboy Girl who is currently stealing our heart. Looking forward to expand my knowledge of all things bulldog from all of you learned and knowledgable peoples! One thing i will say. Where i'm from, my dog of choice is a risk that is arguably not worth taking. I WILL give her the life she deserves, away from the ignorant and imbeciles that would otherwise be the cause of her downfall. I will also do everything in my power to destroy the ridiculous notion that is Breed Specific Legislation, and the councils that enforce it. Responsible ownership is the key

Ha Ha! Thanks guys. I've just put some photo's of her up in the "Dog of the month" section. I'm not trying to enter her into the competition, but a few of you sounded like you wanted to see some photo's. I took them today, and i think she's something special (but i am biased!) I'll try and answer a few of your questions!

1. Mudville Monsta: LMFAO!!! Good one ha ha

2.Laced wit game: Yep, i've seen a few roos in the wild before. I've fought a few too ;-)

3.Black Poison. I'm not sure about the name of her parents but i will do some research into this. Pedigrees/papers are very hard to come by here in OZ because of all the breed specific legislation. They are basically illegal everywhere unless you have them specially registered blah blah blah. Most are advertised as amstaffs or rednose staffies to get around that particular issue. It's bullshit, but it's what we have to do.

3. XLR8. Yes mate, she is definitely an AMSTAFF to most people who enquire, and microchipped as a Staffy cross

did the breeder give you pedigree papers for it.. im from melbourne, and have had pitbulls with pedigree papers from USA.

I didn't get any papers for her unfortunately. I will talk to the guys i got her off and see if i can Thanks very much for showing me that pedigree. I've seen photo's of Duke before on the net many years ago (i think it was on the APBT club of australia website). He was in Melbourne wasn't he? I could be wrong though. It's such a shame that theres so much hush hush about our dogs here. I'd really love to see who her ancestors are, and looking at what you've suggested is a good start! They also mentioned another name, and that was Nanango. I would be assuming that would be a dog that was already here in Australia?

Ha Ha! Your probably right. I just wasn't sure if that was a name of a ROM or POR dog. *crossbones*, i'm not going to rush into desexing her. She's turning out to be a really good girl, so if i did, it probably would be around 3 years. Never say never to her having pups. Obviously dependant on finding a good sire ;-)

 

each to thier own but ya don't even know how she's bred. and being a good girl don't make her an advicate for a breeding program, these dogs don't need that sort of preservation if youd like to call it that. Problem is everyone wants a litter of puppy's.
makes my gut churn.......let her live a good life, enjoy your time with her, then when the time comes buy another from someone that knows what they're doing, and not from the peddler himself either lol....or some add off the internet or paper.

You are right. And don't worry about upsetting me. I'm a big boy and that's not even touching the sides ;-) One thing i pride myself on is not pretending to be something i'm not. Me breeding her would honestly be a 1000 to 1 shot, so fear not. I shall not be adding to the cur factor of the world. I appreciate your honesty in your reply, and i couldn't agree more. All i am going to do is enjoy her for what she is, and that is all

 

and i will say one thing. If i could import something with special history i would. But the rules down under dictate that that's not possible. So as such, we have to make do with what we have. I'm sure that there's people here that would occasionally let known pedigree blood go, but i'm sure that they would be very safely held. I love the history and dogs of the past of the APBT, but BSL has really ruined that for those of us here that appreciate where our dogs have come from
