I don't think the rspca want to unnecessarily put good dogs down. Look in any animal shelter in the UK, they are full of pitbull type dogs.

Any one see the fools on that Channell4 program ...? no wonder they are banned in UK when idiots like that are involved in the dogs,,,,

 

the reason there shelters are full of pit bull types is there the number one type dog they promote, the more that are with the general public the more chance they can come and clean up a "problem" they have a well oiled publicity machine if they gonna bust a person they will contact there local media and have storys ready ,this helps the public put there hands in there poket when they see them come in an save the day and clean up the problem, no dogman in there rght minds ever tried to get an idiot to have there dogs to much work goes into them, those kinds of people are all manifest of the rspca publicty machine ,,the shows they put on tv that sensationalise the breed are what atract those kinds of people it dont take long til a problem arrises and bam buisness as usual ,it wernt dogmen advertising them all across the media to masses it was the so called animal charity tv shows ,number one problem creator and problem fixer of the bulldog problem in usa an uk makes a mockery of both countries imo they got enuf power to have laws chamged in uk and have done it,, look at the hunting laws ,,look at the land they own look at at the old women therll get to leave them there house an land if they just let there cat stay there when they die,, look at what kinda lawyer therll use if any of the family of those old folks contest the will lol its a dirty game thats been going on for years

 

Your wrong they were the main organisation that pushed for the dda and were usually "delighted" when courts ordered dog's destroyed.
What changed their public stance was when people started to see them for what they are and donations started to shrink. So they changed their public stance towards the dda but the attitude towards the dogs hasn't changed one bit.

 

Maybe it would help if the Irish would stop peddling to such idiots.

Could argue it was those same fools who causes farmer boys their aggro. Then again it was them who choose to sell the pups to whoever had the cash.

 

I told the authorities mine was a crossbred mutt, even though it was perfectly legal to own one....lol...(still is legal but with some restrictions...ie no breeding, compulsory neutering, muzzle in public etc...this is a few years ago now, but you still can see young dogs out in public, usually with studded collars or chain styles to enhance the egos of 'gangsta' types, as well as, Jack n Jill types not fully aware of the nature of the beast.) The reason why I chose to bullshit, was that the breed arrived in my area under a cloud of 'notoriety', so I felt I'd play it safe from the start and leave the burden of proof up to the powers that be. It wasn't smooth sailing for me as I did make an unfortunate mistake(dog related)8 years down the track. Suffice it to say that I did know better and took full responsibility...( punishment was the restrictions mentioned above...it also happened prior to the law change)...A lesson learnt by the foolish.:mad:

this is the case for most of the country where there is a bsl, wrong peoples having them for the wrong reasons, in this case it was their own ego ! But the BSL make they want the dogs even more...

An APBT is a game bred fighting dog. If you are trying to further refine the breed for it's original purpose, then how is that "the wrong reason" to have one or more of these dogs? The only people who got no real business owning these dogs are people who can't/don't want to work them.

 

Have you watched the program.... they producers got a bunch of fools who did not know what they ware doing to fight dogs for the program,

 

In all walks of life you are going to find good people and bad people. I am not saying these guys were expert pit dog men, but how many of us are? Besides everyone has to start somewhere. No one is born knowing it all and some things are learnt from experience.

Can't argue with that lol! I never said they were intelligent though lmao! Tbh it wouldn't have made a difference to how the program would be received. As many, if not all of you know, the interest we share (at least I think we share it) is regarded as one of the sickest, most disgusting things by the majority of people alive today. Even if Channel 4 filmed pros the governments, media, charity and general public would still see the sport and those involved in it the same way.

Chances are if you live in Blighty and you own a pit bull terrier, tip-offs from members of the public or RSPCA or council dog wardens can and do result in dogs being taken and destroyed. blanch is right about the RSPCA. A guy I know moved a pit bull (1 single dog, not even game bred) just a day before the police blocked off his whole street and sent 6 police cars to seize one dog, who was not human aggressive. They want them and they want them BAD. Their goal is complete eradication of the breed. The RSPCA try to appear as the good guys in the eyes of the general public because they want donations from them, that's it. How much donation money have they used to put down APBT I wonder? They say they are rescuing a fighting dog from a life of pain and torture, yet all they want to rescue them for is so they can kill them. Some rescue huh? Even retired champions who were going to live out their days as studs because they have already proven themselves have been taken and destroyed by the RSPCA. Open your eyes and trust no one, if you don't the dogs will pay the price like they always do.
