I really think a gamebred dog would be wasted in your hands just sayin now with that being said just because a dog is game bred doesn't mean it will truly be game and even curs fight I do believe you having other breeds is probably a better idea but if you do decide to get a pitbull at least you don't have others and game bred dogs can still form packs but it usually better when done with other none bulldog breeds as long as you get a young pup but your always gonna have to watch for the dog to come out ive seen em get into a fight over a bowl of water it doesn't really take much there have been plenty of fighting dogs who coexisted with other dogs but they do tend to be more of a responsibility as you can never leave them alone with other dogs for obvious reasons good look in your search and ps Tom Garner might be a puppy peddler but he might also be the guy you would wanna get dogs from in your situation

@ Hermienator, Why don't you try one of these, from what I've picked up from your postings they would be much more suited to your needs and requirements for a dog.

O, They are South African Boerboels. I can assist you with the acquisition thereof and the transport thereof to your country, you'll just need to pay for the dog and the transport/vet certificates etc.

reminds me of a story lol... a fella in Australia once imported 2 Boerboels, don't quote me but i think it cost over 10 large, to make it short, the first one couldn't hang with his 50lb apbt so he shot them both, expensive hobby ha......

A Boerboel is not bred to work in that way or for that purpose but they can run in a pack and be compatible with other dogs like what the Herminator is looking for as he has other dogs, that's why nobody on here is recommending that he get a Pitbull. If it cost him over 10 grand then I can with certainty say the fella in Australia got taken for a ride. You can get a good Boerboel here for between the equivalent of 350 to 600 dollars (600 dollars will bring you an outstanding example, usually the breeders keeper). The blood tests, import permits and transportation/air fair is what costs the money but never 10g's thats insane.

  14. There are some breeders over here and between 500 and 1000 euros, u can find a health tested, stable boerboel from a responsible breeder.
I saw a youtube-video with a pack of boerboels in it, beautiful dogs

i understand fully mate, it was 2 dogs for ten.inc import duties etc.etc.. and it was over 20 years ago, the above mentioned breed just brought back memories, i wasn't implying anything either way, just sharing a thought, and you proberly suggested breed correctness for what herm is look'n for.
    cheers.

I personally wouldn't get a pitbull in a multiple dog household, nevermind a pitbull straight off fighting lines, one day you will have dog fights when your pitbull comes of age and they will never stop after that for as long as you own your pitbull. If your still going to get one I wouldn't buy dogs bred off fighting lines, instead look for pitbulls bred more for conformation and don't worry about losing drive as these dogs will still have more drive then any other dog you have probably owned but even then it is not guaranteed that your dog will not have dog aggression.

  17. Thanks everyone for the information . A pitterpatt also came to my mind. Gamebred pit is out of my thoughts and I'm Gonna built a kennel anyway because you never know with a multiple dog household

Maybe you should get a Pitbull if your heart is really set on it but you'll have to do a lot of research and study on the dogs and how they are kept and how to look after them to prevent them from being a danger to anyone or anything around them. Anyway Mr Hermienator, respectably, you did the right thing to come on here and try find things out about the dogs first before actually going out and getting one and finding out later.....shows intelligence.

  19. Thanks Kelticwarrior, just want the best for my dogs.
Too many dogs end up in the shelter and I like doing the research and learning about breeds and then selecting what fits me the best
