You were able to get him off the chain to be looked at so how did that work out. Maybe a little too amped up or something or maybe territorial but he was your dog so you did with him as you have the right to.

Yes it was very hard to get him off the chain. I had to bring all the other hounds inside, and then wait about 2 hours for him to fully calm down to take him off the chain.

Oh ok, sounds like he wasn't trying to get at you he just wanted to get free to get at something else.. All for nothing just was wondering because I remember a few months back you was proud to have him..

I dnt have many dogs but the ones I raise from pups all are in the house their 1st 6-12months,my big homie told me that most man eaters are back yard raised dogs (on the chain fresh off moms tit ) and never getting no time with ppl till after 13-18 months.
@ GS did you have this dog as a pup?

That is a great process you have of keeping your pups in the house for a time, but unfortunately this does not work for all, some dogs just have the desire to bite. I remember visiting Mr. Fitch the owner of CH Diamond Jim and he had to keep him on a chain and enclosed in a fence. He explained to me that Jim would rather bit a man than a dog. This is unexplainable but I have owned pups off of this line through the years and some have tended to be manbiters, more than any other line I have messed with.

I would say he did the right thing. You can wait until you loose a finger or hand to get rid of him lol. If you think that could happen I would say the dogs gotta go too. However I would still get pups or raise pups off that sire because it seems tangolioto was the minority

Or worse, my rule of thumb is if I don't trust a dog around my family the dog got to go.

No I didn't have him as a pup...I'm not sure how he was raised. I got the dog when he was about 28 months old. I knew something wasn't right because HBK told me he's not to be trusted.
