question

I have a 7mo female that has come into heat is it normal for a female to come in heat so soon. She is a small apbt she is only 30 lbs could that have a play in it also.......or could just getting over parvo (2 weeks ago ) have something to do w/it could it have messed w/her hormones????

 

I am not an expert on this but I would have to say it's when mother nature calls....if I am wrong sorry....

 

we had a female go into heat at 8 months so it doesnt sound too farfetched

 

I had one at 6 months one time. Don't worry too much and you might even get another heat within 3-4 months. They aren't always regular until they are fully mature and developed. After that you typically see twice a year or so at least from my experience.

My female's in heat right now her last one was 7 months ago...and I was told they get one every six months.....Is that true?? If it is I wish I had body parts like that better then gettin it every month...

 

You probably shouldn't worry. They usually go into their first heat between 6 to 9 months, some even older. And usually every 6 to 8 most thereafter. There is a good posting on Heat Cycles within a column on the home page to this site. Hope it helps

 

i had a bitch go into heat at 5 1/2 months

 

the first heat cycle of females can vary greatly... i always expected it to happen around 6-7 months but my ex's female didnt hit a heat cycle 'til she was close to a year old...
