The Sierra, all of it, is some amazing country.

If you drive up to redwood national forrest the whole state between there and Redding is amazing. That's all I'm going to say because I don't want to blow up the spot!

I do have a preference but I'm open to suggestions, will have to check out the Sierras been at least 15 years since I've been there. As long as it's quiet and away from everything and everyone is good with me. Maybe put the dogs to good use even fire off a few shots here and there.

Forest, head up to the Central Valley area, around Portervile and head into the Sierra.

Mountains, head up the 395 past Bishop, to the eastern Sierra, you'll pass Mt. Whitney and Death Valley along your way

Desert, check out a area near Blythe called Cibola NWR along the Colorado river and Arizona border.

I'll be going with some other folks and they like the idea of setting up camp and just hang out for few days so I will do the exploring 395 another time.
