Just wondering what people's opinions are on cropped ears and if anyone knows if it it's a legal procedure in South Australia?

personal preference, although seeing how you concerned with the law in Australia it might not be a good idea.

Done it before, never again. serves no purpose for me. And the main thing is it takes away the personality from a dogs face., to me.

IF its done right I like cropped ears. I am Not sure what the laws are in Australia.

  5. I think my dog likes his ears just the way they are, he already scares people no need to look scary too ;)

  6. I'm not in favor in cropping a APBT's years at all. It doesn't serve a purpose at all. Only for show and no Go type of people. The fave of a dog and especially the ears serve a purpose for a dog to read the other dog. How often do you see game dogmen with cropped ear dogs? The Dogo Argentina is a dog that is supposed to have cropped ears. Their ears are just so big and flopping in the hunt. I'll never buy a dog off a person who shows other then AADR or ADBA.

Cropping ears has been banned in Australia as far back as i can remember. Tail docking was banned much more recently. Cropping a dogs ears would bot only run you foul of the law but also bring un needed attention to yourself.

Who really cares? I have cropped some, some I don't. Depends on how I feel and how much I like your ears. Idk about laws in your area. But it's legal here. As long as it is legal ill crop them if I want to.

Thought's on cropped ears? It's a personal preference I don't like crops on APBT's either but I am not against someone's right to choose to crop if that's what they like.

  17. the only way i would crop is if i had dogs that hunted hog, or if i had a doberman(i will NEVER own a doberman)

There is nothing about clipping ears which is at all beneficial to the dog. It's all merely a matter of human whim. Frivolous and self-serving IMO.

when I was a teenager I asked my mentor y he doesn't crop his dogs ears and his reply was...if your going against an ear dog and your dog doesn't have ears..it might go for something more vital..made sense to me.
