    It was a yard accident. It happens. Some well respected old timers have had multiple yard accidents before they learned to adapt to the escape artist. Someone possibly let one of his 'baddest' dogs loose on purpose just ta cause him some grief. It happens. And barrels and wheatstraw bedding which I see plenty of is more than enough shelter for all but the most extreme winters in the southern US. We have a much different climate than what Epona is probably used to in Europe.
