new ky club

Discussion in 'Southeast' started by hunter_red, Mar 12, 2013.

  1. Hello everybody. I am consdering starting a new club that will be ALOT more active the the current one. To start you need at least 30 paying members and elect all the officals. I was wanting to know if anyone from the ky area or surrounding states would be intersted? If so reply on this thread. Rember we need at least thirty paying members. I have not counted all my friends and me that are trying to get this thing off the ground. but i think it is somewere around fifteen or so. Look forward to hearing from you all and get this thing going.

You should try to have a fun show to get people together and gauge real intrest. A lot of people will say yes and only half or fewer will show up. Where the club will be hosting shows is also a factor?

Like Ky Boy said Good Luck on attendance. Is it going to be for real dogs or are the short fat dogs going to be included? Show locations?

  9. It is def gonna be for true bulldogs. were working it out now on a location. were trying to make it in Lexington around the fair grounds. We would love to have a OFFICIAL club. But to be honest we was talking today and hell we would be happy with doing just pig roast were all the local dog men can come out and bs and have a good time. But either way we will be happy as long as we get something going. I have already revived some hate pm but just to set the record straight were are not trying to out do the local club that's here. Were just trying to be more active. :)

  10. Attendance at the KY shows was always good. That's not a problem. If you start a club and have shows, KY is a location where there are plenty of people in surrounding states that will support it.

As far as hate pm's goes, there's always going to be haters and crybaby's. If you're going to let that affect you, you might as well drop your plans now lol. As for the local club, there really isn't anything to outdo. It's been dormant for years now. Hopefully they can get things back on track and running again. Honestly it's stupid to get pissy about people wanting to start another club in the state. Joining forces and putting on a 4 show weekend would benefit everybody. Split the costs of everything. Anybody that can't see that is not looking with open eyes.

I wish you success in your endeavor. Hopefully some cooperation will come instead of a bunch of bullshit.

Boogie the attendance at the sanctioned shows was good but the monthly meetings/ fun shows got to where a couple of members and a couple of officers would sometimes be all that would show up. Maybe 4-5 hours once a month is just to much demand on some people to allow for dog time. Maybe bi-monthly would be better. The location at Freeman Lake Park in Elizabethtown is a good central location. The park was under construction last year but the new Nature Park section is open and would be a nice place. Bullit Co. Fairgrounds is another good location sitting right on I-65. Hunter Red get ahold of the president of the current club and see if you and her can get something worked out.

  12. That's the way it is with most clubs. Lots of talkers, not many DOers...(i know that's not a word lol) Hopefully things can get going again there. The more north you stay the bigger draw you will get from the midwest states.

If you can get things rolling on your own or with the old/current club I think shows every other month would bring a bigger turn out. I think everyone would like to go to shows every month but most cant or they fall on the weekend of another clubs sanctioned show. Shows every month give people to much option of going or not, if you know what I'm saying. Try to schedule around close sanctioned shows, get good judges, and see what happens.
