    Hello,

Does someone own a dog from Gladiator Kennels?
Are they pure APBT? because when I see their pedigree I see camelot bloodline, It's kind of weird.
Oh...and what do you think of protection work on pitbull becuase that what they are doing with them
    Thank you!

  2. There's a Gladiator Kennel that works with Amber-Lite, OFRN, Castillo, Dangerzone, Camelot, etc....Nice show dogs with above-average drive.

Some are using them for hogging cause they tend to be larger they are show dogs mostly. The APBT does not need to be taught to protect they will do it on there own....They were bred to fight but thats just me.At least w/ a hog or coyote, fox, raccoon they are mixing it up.That being said I can not really think of much they can not do if taught

Their dogs, their business. I've got my own thought's on it, but it depends on the scenario.

True that but there are tons of other breed to fit this criteria and will do it better.

  8. To me, that's just like dipshit Liberals saying "there are plenty of other guns you can use to defend your home, you don't need an AR-15 for that, a shotgun would do better." I don't have any interest at this moment in Protection Work for my dogs, but I'm not going to take a stance against it. To each his own...I just hope people with this breed do it the right way, with the help of skilled trainers to avoid a ticking time-bomb.

i am against protection work for the main reason as the negative light that is cast on the breed being propogated even further..... thos only plays more and more into the propoganda the media has spread and i cant see much positive coming from it

  10. I suppose one positive would be having a dog by yourside who is trained to protect you and your family on command, as well as release and heel on command. That would be a pretty positive tool to possess. I understand your concern, though.

I am of the belief that the dog can and will do it without having to teach it....

  12. Surely, but if an untrained dog makes the MISTAKE of getting after someone who is of no threat, then you have an issue. With a professionally trained animal, not only can you ASSUME that will not happen (having never been given the command) but IF it does happen or start to happen, you have the ability to audibly instruct the dog to defer prior to the bite, or at least command the dog out of the bite to minimize the damages done. I think it is contradictory to "100%" agree with the statement "apbt isnt supposed to be human aggressive" and then say that "I am of the belief that the dog can and will do it without having to teach it." Human aggression and protective instincts dissimilar in my opinion...I'm definitely not the authority on the topic....Just my thoughts.

I am not a fan on the "pit bull" being used to bite people. Only for the reasons stated, the fight to establish the breed as a good companion and stable mind is undermined when the uneducated persons sees said dog biting a sleeve of a person.

It does no good. Its like people that plan to kill using the AR-15 just adding to the fire. It would be best for all involved in the gun world if these folks used guns like hunting rifles. Bad analogy, but you get my jest.

As been said, one has every right to as they please. I wont condemn anyone for such training, it is not for me though. If I need a dog to protect me from humans then its time to reevaluate my situation and look into a weapon. Dogs are easly distracted with tasty treats or just bring a game dog over and let it fend that off while you take care of said dogs owner. Now if the owner is packing or has a shotgun handy, LOOK OUT! LOL

JMOP....I am 100% opposed with the APBT being used as a guard /protection dog. This breed is tarnished enough alraedy.
There are plenty of other breeds bred for this.

I think it's hilarious when people on here are against protection work with APBTs because they think it carries a negative social view. And yet, we're all into game dogs for their original purpose as if that's not socially frowned upon?

Yeah but the media makes people think APBT are these man eaters that can't be trusted. I think seeing these dogs do protection work just add fuel to the fire.

I agree although not everyone on here are currently involved in their original purpose there does seem to be many who are although I'm sure there are just as many government agents on here fishing for info by pretending to support game work

Its original purpose is supposed to be a closed circle event where all present know and understand what is going on and also understand that these dogs should be able gentle towards people while doing there jobs. whereas biting a sleeve in a open training field adds fuel to the fire as the media has already corrupted most peoples perspective of the breed and they just think another crazy pitbull devil dog attacking yet another person. The whole argument is based on perspective.

and most people's perception has been substantially skewed by media propaganda and the drive to sell papers or get ratings

its about staying true to what these dogs original standards were and one of these standards is the dogs not b human aggressive
