Yea the video shows how shitty the integrity of those welds are. 7/16" rod bent and no fatigue on my welds.

If you ever welded outside of production job you know damn well you get some porosity in welds when welding rusty shit.

Honestly fella. Your type has been hired and your talent runs out soon as the job isn't on a table using new clean metal. Go pound sand you canned tuna welder.

Dirty metal, dirty nozzle, paint ,too much wind blowin your gas away, you can also have your gas to high all that will cause purosity...you can also have bad gas ,sometimes you have to purge the lines.

I figure if someone is going to use a example to undermine someones work, they would come with a good example. He says rusty metal i say explain the pin hole top right next to the clean metal nut ive welded on rusty metal in the ship yards that is way worse than that rod. The weld was nothing less than perfect. Im not trying to argue with a 2nd or even a 3rd class welder. Im just saying if your going to show a "proper" weld, to undermine tested and quality products than they need to come correct with out bull shit excuses of rusty metal and a dirty gun. A great welder can lay down perfection with a "dirty" gun. I used to do it every day. If you need clean tools to lay down perfect welds. Than you have no business talking shit on someone elses welds. That's JMO.

sorry bout the double post ...as far as the thickness of the weld it only needs to be as thick as your thinest peace of metal that your welding to...simple as that

Agreed. Seen alot of welders in my line of work bust weld test. Then the excuses come pouring in like rain. There can and will be probs when welding. Nobodies perfect 100% of the time, not to mention other factors that play a part. But like u said, if u gonna teach, do it right. Not just slap something together. I think d. Dog was just trying to show what a weld "should" look like. But doing so without going through all the motions of prepping the metal because it was just a quick example.jmo

For the record, I have put out over 8,000 swivels and had one failure and the person said he wasn't sure if it was due to weld or not.

I've been a welder and a certified welding inspector for over 20 years.

I just want everyone to know the pics of welds and video are not my swivels.

I'm not fixnig wha'ts not broke, and I'm not going to waste my time pointing out all the flaws in the pics that have been posted, because I would reject everyone for a minimum of 3-4 rejectable discontinuities.

  9. At the end of the day if you're happy with the man's products buy them. If not everybody is free to go somewhere else
