    1. I just take one Multivitamin supplement, crush that into powder.
    2. Mix that with a small amount of water or one raw egg (Feed raw eggs in moderation)
    3. Open the canned food and mix that with the egg and supplement mixture and mix it good until it resembles pancake batter.
    4. Mix Blue Buffalo Fish and Sweet Potato until it looks like this

This is him, hes developing a little faster than my older APBT which is why i would like to know if he should be fed this.

    feedback is appreciated.

  2. That's not bad but if your gonna do all that you should just go raw.

there's no need to feed puppy food or the gnc vitamin.that pup development ain't because of your concoction. high quality kibble has come a long way over the years.

It's too much vitamin for a pup he is not a human and only weighs 20lbs you should have no vits at that age They can become toxic as alot of vitamins are stored in fat cells etc. You could just feed him a good balaced puppy food and plenti of water

sure you can feed a pup raw if you wanted. you better have a good scorce to supply you though. in less your a farmer or have plenty of butchers local to you. it's very time consuming & can be expensive.

yea its possible, it is very time consuming and yea expensive if your don't have butchers (like me...closest butcher is 30 miles away AND its the only one so the charge through the nose...for beef fat trimmings its 1.34 a lb...most people can get that crap for free) anyhow if you shop around its good, the best place I have found to get chicken leg quarters at is wal-mart, they have a natural not enhanced bag called something gold I forget what but it says Gold in the name...the main thing is RESEARCH and verity, and little to no enhanced meat (basically enhanced means it has salt pumped into it)

There is a lot more to raw feeding than just chicken quarters. I did not have access to other protien sources so I stopped feeding it. You start out with the chicken and add to it. Rabbit, beef, and whatever else. Organ meat as a percentage of the total diet and not just one organ but a mix as too many of one is bad. It is complicated and I never felt I got the mix just right. You can also do just as bad feeding too much protien as not enough in your dry kibble. I never feed canned unless I have a sick dog and am trying to tempt him or her to eat. It is bad for the teeth and spoils the dog in my opinion. You also aren't supposed to mix raw and kibble. Since they digest at different rates, you could wind up with a bad case of the shits. Also there is something in raw eggs that is not that good either. Albinum? I can't remember exactly what but it has to do with vitamin absorbtion. I was told it was better to lightly cook them. And that human vitamin is way overdosing your puppy. You feed a good kibble like the others said and you don't need any further supplementation. www.dogfoodadvisor.com is one site and www.dogfoodanalysis.com is another. They break it all down so you can better understand the info they give.

this is a true statement, I try to tell people that these companies spend millions to beat their competor, and good kebble is fine up to a year, then if you want change to a brand that you think you can give lower dosage that's up to you.

Purina Puppy Chow will do fine for the 1st year

  11. I agree. Me and my wife were spending tons of funds on all this hyped up stuff!!! We started on purina proplan focus but noticed small light spots developing on thier coats, not to mention the vomiting which they tried to say was jormal!! We then tried blu buffalo, it was alrite but they would only eat it when tjey were starving!! We didnt notice any bad reactions tho. So we finally after trying several raw recipes, landed on nutro. Its nice, we r satisfied completely. Dogs doing good. Said all that to say if your dog is growing good and isnt getting sick from the food then go with that. No need to POSSIBLY harm the dog overall by adding to premium food.

Can't believe that no one has mentioned Nature's Variety Instinct Duck and Turkey. You can get it at Petco. It'll grow a pup. And, you should have no issues with it. This is no non-sense feed.

there are plenty of top brands of puppy Kibble out there, we use Red mills Xell and Gain puppy feed wich is from the USA. so you guys should not have trouble getting that one. Both are high performance kibble. and you will not get fat up pups but shiny healty muscle tone puppies.. please dont forget to soak your kibble.. and your be fine.. no extra vitamins ecetera should be given. those and other quality brands have EVERYTING in it a puppy needs. DO wach out for buying the right bags for the size of your dog breed. as the mixture variates with the size of the breed. the smaller the breeds are the Higher the energy rate is put in there. especialy for the terrier type breeds..

I feed eukanuba grand race and it cost a arm and leg..but I notice that they don't eat much of it?????

  17. If you're worried about how fast he is growing, feed less food. Or feed something with lower fat/protein levels. "Large Breed" puppy formulas are usually scaled back on these ingredients to slow down growth just a tad.

Aczackly my point in my previus post. ofthen people with larger dogs buy the food of smaller breeds. these larger breeds need LESSER protien and fat. This sounds contradictif. But like diferend typs of slow and fast growing trees. the grouwth rings in the bones(like in trees) in bigger breeds need to be tighter/ denser. in order to make them stronger and to make sure the bigger breeds dont grow out of proportions. wich ofthen happends as they grow to large and get sloppy joints weaker bones and weaker muscles ecetera due to ecsessif protien and fat they are forced into a growth spurt.
In other words you need to slow douwn there growth rate!!.

Smaller breeds ofthen have a faster harth rate and use up more energy then larger breeds do. when compeard pound for pound..
Hensh feeding of ecsesif protien/ fat levels have compleatly distroid breeds like the dogo argentino. In europe they interperter the word Dogo WRONG. as the Dogo argentina has been put in the larger breed corner of the molloser and Deenish DOG breeds . Not realizing Dogo in south american simply meens "'DOG"". sins that wrong interpetation they where breeding them TALLER and fed them WRONG high protien fat food. resulting in a breed outcome that is nearly as tall as a deenish Dog. and not being able to hunt in the dense undergrowth of the jungles as he simply is to big.. anyway small to midium breed size puppy kibble is askt for..

  19. I've definitely noticed that pups on RAW diets grow up much slower than most dry kibble fed pups. They'll reach their full growth potential either way...but slow and controlled growth, allowing each joint, tendon, ligiment, and muscle fiber the chance to grow strong enough to support the body's size/weight is ideal.

When fed the right kibble there is ""no"" problem . infact i belive many raw feeders dont give Dicalsium fosfate in there pupy diet at al!!. witch slows the growth in a ""Negatif way""..... in that case the bones dont grow soft because they grow to fast , but they grow ""brittle"""because of the lack of Dicalsium Fosfate in there Diet....
