the most stupid thing youve ever heard

i entered a bull breed show today,put my staff in the staff bull terrier section.i was called to be judged and the judge said right to my face that my dog was too fit looking and that will be a mark against him(WTF)he then went on to give the the winning roset to a tricolour staff black tan and white and fat as fuck. last time i checked that was a flaw.im not sour that my dog was beat but the fact that he said my dog was too fit no wonder most of the staffs left around these days are pure shit bred stumpy fat pugs.

 

you should have laughed in the judges face .

 

laugh i couldnt even speak cause i was still trying to pick my jaw up of the floor.

 

what show was it and where was it held, do you know the judges name?
Black and Tan and Liver coloured SBTs are very undesirable and not to be encourage for show purposes. I have never in the time I have shown my SBT ever heard a judge say a dog or bitch is too fit and would be deducted points for it.

 

it was a bullbreed show held in cork in ireland dont know the judges name but as far as im concerned he couldnt tell a dog from a cat,it was a joke so much so i left immediately.dont get me wrong im not upset about not winning its the fact people like him and others think weasing stumpy fat fuck staffs are breed standard.i put alot of time and effort into all my dogs with correct diet and excerise to keep my dogs fit and therefore as far im concerned its how a staff should look.

 

that's what you get by going to shows , they are judged in the main by idiots that have no idea about what the breeds are supposed to be. working shows seem different, usually just done for a day out, nothing too serious and quite often judged by lads that know a fair bit, certinly more than the proper show dog people.
i never understood how a good dog could be a bad colour.

 

i wiill agree with you i have learnt my lesson wont be going to anymore shows.i have no problem with bad colour dogs but when said dog is fatter than it was taller and looked more like an old english bull then i have issiues.

This dog doesn't look thin over conditioned or too fit, just a fine example of a SBT. The judge must have been an idiot. Got anymor pics of him?

Showing in conformation is so damn aggravating! I had one judge tell me that Boom would take BOB, if he had another 15-20lbs on him. At the time, Boom was about 10 months old and weighed 24lbs. The dog that won was panting and snorting from a couple of laps around the ring. Once out of the ring, he had to be sprayed down with water and have a fan placed on him, and this was an indoor show with air conditioning. Very sad!

 

How tall is boom, about 14 inches my guess, a 44lb dog that height would be ridiculous...

 

Yep, Boom is 14" tall...at that weight he would be an English Bulldog.

 

I think the post ask what was stupidest thing we had heard in the dogs. I just seen this a few weeks ago. "Dead Game pups for sale" this topped the chart for me. I believe I've heard it all now.

 

Tea cup staffy pups in my local shop window and yes people I did take down that add I couldn't stand it

 

Guy who lives down the street was walking his dogs. He has a XL blue and white female pit that he bred with an American Bully pit. And he kept a male pup who is now larger than his mother. He was walking mother and son by my house and saw me out with my female Staffy. He asked me if she was a Pocket Bully. When I said no, that she was a Staffy, I could tell he was confused.

It wasn't stupid, it's just that his frame of reference for dog breeds is from a different viewpoint. In fact I would compare it to someone seeing an Airedale and thinking that if must be a Labradoodle of some sort.

just an update if i wasnt upset enough about the judges shows etc etc my dogs have picked up kennel cough.thats definatly it for me and my dogs were done with shows.

 

Shows = ruined breeds end of in my opinion

 

So stupid when a healthy dog is looked at like a bad thing. Can't really wrap my head around it....
