My issue with them is more due to the trees in the area. I have no trash, wood piles, standing water or anything like that. Im real compulsive with how the area looks to neighbors and what not, it stays free of everything except the dirt the dogs run on. I dont want to cut the trees down though because as much of a pain in the ass as they are with shedding leaves and stuff, they provide an awesome canopy for the dogs against the rain, sun and even snow until the leaves are fully gone from the trees. Plus, no one can see my yard from any angle when the trees are in full bloom. I've just learned to live with them since they dont normally bother the dogs and none are poisionous. I do spray the area once a month and also use sleven dust on the ground and in the bedding of the dog houses. I use bronco spray on the dogs every 2 or 3 days for the pests that fly. None really seem to reduce the spider populations though. Keeps everything else away though lol.

Yeah. I spend a good amount of $ every year on hauling junk and debre plus the man hours keeping things tidy. Without doing it I'd have a lot more insects and places for spiders to dig in and get comfortable. I've got a old wood warehouse that I set off a few of those raid bug bombs and there were probably 10000 dead spiders the next morning, lol. Worked good but I would tear it down an put up a metal structure if I wasnt moving.

Yeah, it has been a real rough year for spiders. Mosquitos have been insane in the northeast this year.

Try crab apples, break them apart but keeps the spiders and few more flys, not bad though.

BUMP. Anybody have any positive results on keeping brown recluse spiders at bay? Looks like this property we're getting has a good number of them around. If anybody has positive results dealing with them, I'd greatly appreciate you sharing. I'm going to try "cyper wp", if has anybody tried it? It has good reviews.

I've been bitten by both the Black widow and the Brown recluse. The Balack widow bite made me feel sick and dizzy for a couple of weeks. The Brown recluse bit me 4 times on the face, the worst being right on my nose, which left a permanent scar.
Oh well just another goofy mark.

Do you use anything to combat them now?
