Red Devil crosses...show some.

Do you guys know anything abt a "ranger" line? some yrs ago when I was just really gettn into bulldogs n learning lines n things like that a guy sold me a red devil/ranger pup.... No papers n I only spent 100 bucks so i really werent lookn for any... And the dog has been looooong gone now but Im now interested to see if there every really was a ranger line of dogs

Didnt know what the Dowds southwest went back to until recently...
A well known Carwiles Lock Jaw produced some fine bulldogs that held thier own as a line but put some fire to other well known crosses...Lock Jaws sire was Slaughters Bull Lea off Southwest Sampson to Caddells Elizabeth ( whoms anscestory i dont know and wonder). Lock Jaws dam was Shebba from HIENZLs Chilli ex Zsa Zsa....
These "LOCK JAW" dogs were known to be as rough as they looked and as game as the day is long...
The old stories reminded me of a Tombstone dogs, the further into the show the harder they scratch...

Caddell now owns dogs directly from me. He always like the line of dogs from the stock.
I believe Jean's Joanie is from that stock as well.
Silk I never seen her in the book of champions or her name appearing on the ROM list in SDJ which closed in the first part of 06.
Though she was bred to fine dogs.
The bottom side was down from House of Bull North. He went on to be the Am in the Cam/Am Boys.

ya'll talking about them ole dowd dogs brought back some memories.In 85 cecil ponds gave me a pup that went back to his maverick dog. in that ped was some of dowds dogs. ginger ,duke and Gallant lady. lol even a dog called Iron Mike-- wonder where he came from lol==== Dan

 

They know each other. This is known. lol
There are pictures floating around of them together, standing by each other.
Dowd was known for gamecocks as was Bentley and others.

 

yep dowd had birds and put out a mag plus haveing the dogs. must have been a busy fella. by the way iton mike and iron lady were owned by creeds lol--- dan

 

Like a trip down memory lane. I started with a dog out of Southwest Samson x Southwest Amber.
The Gamecock mag was Grit and Steel if I remember correctly.

Yes, Frank owned dogs named like that. There was more then 1 Iron Lady. The magazine was Feathered Warrior or Grit & Steel.

 

Lock Jaw's topside is Buster/Bullet...Bull was directly off Buster.

 

For thirty something years Bob Carwile had LOCKJAW adba reg as being sired by Slaughters Bull Lea (DOWDS SOUTHWEST SAMPSON x Caddells Elizabeth) and LOCKJAWs dam as Grindstaffs Sheba (Heinzls Chilli x Heinzls Zsa Zsa)...

Does anyone know how Caddells Elizabeth is bred????

i have a little story that we did on cecil and maverick a number of years ago i have no idea how to scan it to post it. if yall would like to see it or if you know how to post it i would galdley work with you. it was done in 1999 and is about 12 pages long. it really has done me good seeing peds with his dogs in them . cecil was well known in the days and one heck of a friend to me. i was privilaged to know him and a few others=== Dan
