whatcha think, is he pure bred??

I have an 11mnth apbt, besides going to get blood work done can anyone seriously let me know if he is pure bred, i got him when he was about 7-8 weeks old, and i seen his mother and father, both from what i was told was or is a gator mouth. But doing research, i found out that those terms were made up by back yard breeders! I believe he is pure (hopefully the picture comes up) but he has ALL the characteristics, hes red nose with one of the lightest brendels(tiger stripes if im not sayin it right) ive ever seen! Great family member (w/ 3 kids all under 6)

Nice looking pet, if you said he was pure APBT no one could really argue that he wasn't, going by looks. Do yourself a favour and don't tell anyone he's Gator mouth.

Yea, thats what I've recently just discovered! I felt ah stupid after finding out, cause i had been telling everybody that, but now im ah little more educated on tha subject! So whats with the bloodlines(if they're any) or are there are different pedigrees?

oh hell no.... theres gator moufs all over my hometown. theyre the best thing since sliced bred, just ask their owners LOL

Can we get a sticky with the above title? That way all the "Pits, Pitty's, Pitter Patter, Pocket Pits, and of course Gatormouf's" have a place to congregate Nothing personal Smitty, its just a question that is asked over and over. Just a thought.

 

I have a dog that pretty much has the same head features as your dog. My dog is a cur backyard bred mutt. She has high prey drive and she exhibits some other characteristics that are proper to an APBT but she is definitely not a gamebred dog by any stretch of the imagination, she is just a mutt, and eventhough I have witnessed her hunt down some prey here and there (she just caught her first squirly yesterday, it looked awesome), I do not delude myself that I have something that I really don't have. Someday I will own a gamebred APBT, but for now I am enjoying what I have, which, by the way, is a mutt.

 

Looks like a dog to me.lol.Hope he makes you a good pet,but as far as what he is,no one knows and I wouldn't put no faith in a blood test either. gator mouth is a term used by people who should never breed a dog (and by members of this forum when we sarcastically ridicule people,lol) Doesn't mean he won't make a decent pet for you,you just don't know entirely what he is.

 

Yeah,there's bloodlines.Just like you have a family tree,a dog does too.That's their pedigree.
