Is this a rare color? If so, what's it called?

  1. Before we decided to adopt, we were looking at puppy classifieds online and I fell in love with this puppy. I'm still a little heartbroken we didn't get him but, I was wondering what color you would call him, incase in the future I was to look for a similar dog. He also had some light grey spots on his side but I don't have a picture of that. I apologize. 8248gll_27.jpeg

if you were looking at say craigslist or something, then that is probably an ambully and not a pit. If that is an ambully, it is probably a blue fawn. Every now and then, a blue fawn pup pops out of a blue x blue breeding, which ambullies are known for color wise.

Why is everyone saying 'Blond'? lol
Blond is NOT a Dog color. The correct term is fawn.
It looks merle to me, which would mean it is not pure APBT, Am Bully or AST. Probably just a byb mutt.

Can you post a side picture? I can't really see the color very well. That's not a very good picture. If you have a better shot in better lighting it would help.

Never mind I read the post again you said it had grey spots on the side and didn't have a side shot. It could be merle but I couldn't tell by that front shot. You don't want an APBT with that color pattern anyway it comes with a lot of health issues and it's a disqualification in the ADBA/UKC.

Good chance it'll lose it's markings as it matures and become fawn/buckskin.

There's really no known rare colors, looks fawn. If it is a Merle...stay away. Just make sure when you find a little one and are about to spend money get one with a history that can be verified, from a reputable breeder. Save yourself the money and the heartache if something goes wrong.

  14. Thank you all so much but we decide to adopt and we love him to death! :]

i'd go with fawn as well. question: (hard to tell with the angle the dog is in) but are both eyes blue?
    best of luck with him.

Hard to tell from pic but lloks like a reverse fawn brindle the kind of color you sometimes get in presas.I have seen it before when pits are crossed to Am bulldogs so would say the dog is a cross how far back is anyones guess. It is not a common APBT color.

  19. I agree with this.. and i think its a merle as well..
