Well it depends on the situation and whos gettin the dog. If it was me, my shit wouldnt be open to the public anyways. But lets say it was.........

I wouldnt necessarily "hang" a ped, but if u aint in the camp or a close associate who works theyre dogs, then chances are u aint gonna know how the stock is bred. If one were to ask id say "dont trip, theyre off bulldogs".
Besides this game has always been infested with liars n con artists, hell, some of the biggest liars in the world were also some of the best dogmen!

Topbox, i remember u tellin me u were pretty tight with bobby............yet u consider paper hangers crooks? no pun intended, just seems a little ironic....

I have known Bobby for along time and to be honest with you i have never got a dog off of him for how it was breed....i got them from him knowing what they will do. Ive helped breed dogs with Bobby and picked from those litters knowing the parents and was pleased with the outcome. Now Bobby and Carver where really tight and im sure papers weren't all what they said they where but thats in all the well known breeders. But i dont understand the point of breeding just for others anyway and only have a couple of litters every so often. I can count on one hand in the last 9 or 10 years. The bitches that are breed now hopefully will be well known later with only a few pups leaving.

after reading this it makes alot of sense to me when i had purchased hemi almost three years ago the breeder i got him from had told me he was bred zebo/midnight cowboy/redboy on top and midnight cowboy/ofrn on bottom but he never produced papers and i only paid 150.00 and got a great bulldog then i had a guy that wanted to breed him with a mayday bitch and bam i have a single blue puppy which leads me to believe that hemi may be blue on top or carry that special gene to produce blue pupps he is all white chain wt 64 and the bitch was light brown chain wt 45 so it leaves me very confused

  6. Not me homie, I know that sound like bullshit to you but if I "KNOW" someones is know for that then I will just miss out plain and simple, same as a few well known dogmen that live today that are putting very good bulldogs on the ground that there are some vaild ?'s about and I won't deal with them either but thats me can't speak for anyone else........

the game has evolved in a way where papers sell dogs...regardless of how much people wish to hang on to yesteryear it is a fact to a majority of people with these dogs the paper weighs more than the dog...paper hanging has been going on since the first time someone sat down and hand wrote a pedigree....way back when it was to hold onto the secret recipe...then it evolved into making a few dollars...to now where there are people who actually make a living off these dogs...and other breeds as well...
it is sort of like finding a really good deal on a used vehicle...paying the cash and getting several years of good service, even more than your monies worth...then when you try to sell it you find out it has a salvage title...it is a good truck...served you well...but without 'good' paperwork it is worthless....unless your buyer is just looking for a good truck and not trying to buy and re sale....
dogs are the same...if someone is just looking for a good dog then that 'salvage title' means little...but if i am buying the dog with the predisposition of selling puppies off him i need some 'good paperwork'...not accurate just 'good'.....so the guy that is selling the dog understands this so he has to keep his papers up to snuff....and if he does not have the dog with matching paper to make a sale but he does have "a dog" with another set of 'good paperwork' then we are snow ballin' from there....
i like papers as much as the next guy....i did some horse swapping a couple of years ago and ended up with a nicely bred bolio/eli male...papers look nice....they came back and my black and white dog is actually brindle....he was six months old weighing about 12 pounds with a fullmouth of 10 week old puppy teeth...pretty much got boned on that end....two years later he has turned into a nice bulldog....i can say this is a bulldog....but i can honestly say this is a bolio/eli bulldog....just a bulldog....in the beginning i was pissed at the deception but in time it worked out to my favor as i was hoping for a bulldog and got one....
papers are important when selling dogs is a higher priority than owning bulldogs....US1

  8. For me its not about the papers its all about the "lie" if someone will lie to me about how the dogs is bred what eles is he/she lying about????????????? I don't care much if the hound isn't reg, it about the lie.....jmo

Dogs are as good and honest as the breeder behind them. Point Blank period. Nothing wrong with a tightly bred or crossed out dog or even a scattered dog as long as you are aquireing them from a honest dogman with high standerds. There is a place for all of em in the dog game. Good dogs are where you find them and not all good dogs need to be bred. If youre feeding them and keeping them honest you can take a shot breeding any dog you deem worthy even if its a gamble. As long as youre Breeding for youre own yard and "cleaning up youre own shit" and not pawning them off on other folks or selling pups do what ever the fuck you want! its youre yard isnt it? Youre feed bill? Youre reputation at stake? fuck what keybord warriors have to say about it! Hammonds Bruno and Gamblers Vergil are two fairly scattered dogs that a whole quality line of working dogs were based on. Thank god Hammonds and Gambler had the good sence to recognize a good dog and take a chance on em. I personaly like family breedings but would use a quality scattered dog as an out any day.

Aint none of yall got a yard like carver none of yall are selling the type of dogs carver sold to the public,So dont turn this into yall are even on the same level as carver where you can afford to act that way. and to be honest when carver gave you a dog half the time unless it was from his breeding you didnt get the ped, Every old timer I talked to said You NEVER told carver what Blood you were after you just told him you wanted a good dog and would prefer the corect ped on the dog. If you sell a dog You sell the rights to the dog the ped is part of that dog and for any one of yall to hang a ped just couse you think you dont want to sell your secreats LOL just dont give a ped at all, Dont bullshit and hang one so you can get more money that is bullshit why not Give the right paper Im sure your Camp will be more respected than a Known camp that is full of shit and a lier and full of crooks. is that really what you want for your camp??

i'd buy a dog from hitler or the green river killer if i thought it would improve my shit. pedigree only tell you what dog was bred to what dog. it don't tell you the generic makeup of your offspring. and that's only if there 100% true. all these folks saying they got so and so blood half the time are not even genetically related to the dogs. if you can't be 100% verified by breeding every dog in your pedigree then nothing written is worth a damn. because just one incorect line changes the whole genetic makeup as a whole. sorry to break harts but that's how genealogy works. it don't go half way & we make it selfserving to our motive. the only thing that matters is the man behind the dogs.

A man(or woman for that matter) is only as good as his(her) word. If they'll lie about how it's bred, they'll lie to you about the quality.

Most people who get dogs from me say that I almost talk them out of buying. I will tell you flat out that I don't guarantee anything because I can't control how the dog is treated once it leaves my hands. I don't sell started dogs, only pups and young dogs(and even then only when I need money to keep the other dogs healthy and happy). If I have never seen what it can do, how can I guarantee it?

I feel the same way...kinda one of the reasons ive never cared to breed alot of dogs...If i dont need them why should i breed them when im working with what i have...and i also feel guilty for selling someone a dog that i do not know anything about... all i can say is i hope it works for you and let me know if it does or doesnt.

agree whole heartedly with this post....the little male i have now has a really nice set of bolio to eli papers...but he is black with a white chest in real life...but he is a black brindle on his paperwork...he is over 2 1/2 years old by his paperwork but barely 18-20 months in reality....just like all of them i loaned him a chain spot....he has yet to miss a payment....if his credit remains in good standing and he ends up dubbed a bulldog he can live there for a long time....regardless of his paperwork....US1

And if you make him a Champ and really want to breed him for your own yard you will be scraping rocks to find the truth also just like I have had to do then say papers dont matter LOL.

I would make no more effort then than I am making now. If he makes it that far I would just simply breed to him because he was a bulldog. I would objectively identify his strengths and then do the same with his weaknesses. I would then breed him to bitches with traits that would give the offspring a chance to be better than their parents. And go from there...For me papers are a non-issue because I have never acquired a dog nor made a breeding with a future breeding in mind.
On the other hand I am grateful for the people who take the time to do the research, paper their dogs and provide a 'breeding map' for others to follow. Because, from people like this I have had the pleasure of owning some really nice winning dogs over the years. US1
