Sounds good to me TJ that's more than reasonable for a pup that comes from a good yard.

  2. I highly disagree. Handing over the nuts of any dog over to simply anyone who has the money is simply asking for your dog to be overbred and used to contribute to overpopulation. If I was a breeder, there's no way in hell I would let my dogs go without contract to simply anyone with the money. That's just keeping good track of the dogs you have produced and the dogs they have produced.

  3. Tried to add an edit, Tapatalk wouldn't let me...but IMO, the right to breed a good dog from a reputable breeder should be EARNED, not bought. I definitely wouldn't want my well bred working dogs name on the pedigree of some BYB cur, which is what would happen if every good breeder gave breeding rights to any jackass with a wad of cash.

Not true let me tell you I know first hand show breeders are the biggest fucking peddlers seen it many times just cause you send a dog off on a contract does not mean anything most of the time those contracts have a hard time holding up in a court of law and it costs more just to get the dog back which in the end most never do. I will tell you what works better than any contract and that's being SELECTIVE about who your dogs go to in the first place. I know breeders like this you can't just walk on their yard and hand them money for a dog you have to be referred to them and it's no walk in the park to get a dog from them. So I disagree if you think a peice of paper will stop the dogs from going into the wrong hands you are dead wrong.

These dogs were never really for pets, they just happen to make good pets for the right person. But like was told to me if you havent got plans for em dont breed them.

  6. Never said that, I just said a dog shouldn't be given to any joe schmoe with the money. What you are saying makes just as much sense.

  7. sadieblues

The breeder who sends his dogs to the right people knows they are not going to breed the shit out of them to any worthless POS dog. Again it's about who you deal with in the first place. All my dogs still have the breeders name on their papers but they are mine and the breeder doesn't have the right at any time to stud my dog that's the difference lol. Although I have a great relastionship with my breeder I would always consult him out of respect but I know his standards and I would breed to no less if I chose to ever breed.

  8. I think $500-600 for a pup is a good price its really what you think they are worth, as far as where they go you can try to track them all you want but in the end the buyer will do what they want with what they buy and very few times its what the breeder would have wanted.........jmo

I know this much when I got my dogs the man told me if for some reason you can no longer care for the dog please call me and I will buy the dog back I do not want my dogs out there being bred by just anyone I have nothing but respect for that but he knew when he sold me those dogs I wasn't going to breed them that's not even why I bought my dogs but if that ever changed I would make sure the breeder approved of what I was breeding his dog to I feel that's the right thing to do I know what he put into his dogs and I wouldn't want to breed to anything less but like I said we have a close relationship and we are friends so there is that mutual respect any friendship should have.

  10. sadieblues

    sadieblues CH Dog

Just to add I think there is always or should always be an understanding of what the breeder expects when you walk out the door with one of his dogs that's all that needs to be said if you trust each other than there should never really be any problem.

i don't know how they do it now . but good dogmen wanted to keep there blood close . they would want the right to breed to a male if it turned out to some bitches in their yard to use not sell . a female they may have a good male the would want to put her to if she turned out . but the pups stayed in the yard . i guess what your saying is it's all about the money and not about getting good pups .

  14. sadieblues

    sadieblues CH Dog

What I am saying is I don't want anyone telling me I have to breed my dog lol .. That's what I am saying. If I don't want to breed my dog I shouldn't have to breed it. I don't want a bunch of pups running around not now. If I breed I want to know they will stay with me and the breeder I do not want to have to worry about all that. If you go to most show breeders they will ask you to sign co-own contracts which means you don't fully own the rights to your dog they will state in clause that they have the right to breed to your dog at any time. That might work for some people but not for me. Old goat you are talking about another time I am not breeding working dogs I don't want to breed period. Now if the breeder came to me and asked me if he could breed to the pup I got for him as long as I was in a place to care for all the pups and he would be taking the pups back to do what they do than fine but I don't want my dogs being bred left and right. So if that means that I am all about the money because I don't want to breed than fine lol.

  15. sadieblues

    sadieblues CH Dog

Oh and the dogs I have are kept close he knows me and I know him we talk everyday if he wanted to breed a dog back to the family I could make that happen. But I don't want anyone forcing me to sign a contract on a dog for breeding purposes. If I pay money for a dog it's my damn dog and you are not going to demand that I offer up sperm and ovaries at the drop of a dime. It costs money to breed and care for the dogs I know how much I pay a money for 4 dogs I can't imagine what that bill would increase to after having a bunch of pups. Someone has to care for them and the way I care for my dogs it requires a great deal of time that I don't have right now to offer it to 6+ pups plus 4 dogs. I don't want the responsibility that comes along with responsible breeding.

i think 500 is a fair price, after all it is a crap shoot on these dogs,i see people pay big money on dogs that are bred real nicely and turn out with nothing! personally i think you shouldn't buy a pup untill 16months or older, just because when you go to pick them you want to look at their body language and see what your getting.

I dont know how yall do it but if I sell anyone a pup i allways let it be known the dog is to come back to me if you can no longer care for it . what the hell am i saying I guess what Im saying is I aint going to sell dogs to anyone that is not well grounded with these dogs. I aint going to sell to newbees Sorry guysI know you have to start some place but not with my stock. I will only let my dogs go to people that know what they hell they are doing with the dog. And belive me I can tell in about 5 min how long you have feed dogs. but I allways try and get back a pup if the dog is something worth talking about. But 75% of he time once that dog starts making the grade you aint getting shit back. i dont care what contract you make. and another Who in the hell says you can pay me good money you earn and you can have a pup, but you have to fix it! LOL yea like that dog will hunt lol. That is pure Greed, If you sell a pup and the owner works him shows him and makes something of the dog, as a breeder you should kiss that guys ass and give him whatever he wants .Thats a dog man and he bought the dog and he OWNS the dog He can breed that dog to what ever he wants and you as a breeder dont got jack squat to say about it, Thats why Id reather take a little less and make sure the people that get my dogs are just as game as the dogs.

At 16 mo that is a prospect and the price goes up A LOT!! By 16 mo old that dog may be worth 5 x what I would take as a pup. That aint no joke so when a dog man lets you on his yard dont go offering him 5 bills for a 16 mo old prospect couse if you get that dog for that the man is 1 your friend 2 he is real broke or 3 you just payed 5 bills for a 16mo flea bag.

Ok I agree with this .. That's what I was trying to say in a long winded way you pay for a dog no one has the right to tell you who it should be bred to and when and where it's going to happen. Or that you have to make it a show CH or GR CH before it's bred or spay and neuter it here is a contract just for example of what I am talking about there is no way I would sign this shit LOL

Basically this is just an example of what I am arguing here. That contract basically says not only does the breeder own the dog you paid for it owns you too! You have to report everything to them when you move, illness, you can't breed the dog unless it registered with the above mentioned registries LOL.. This is utter nonsense if you want to sign a contract like that go ahead. But I am not signing shit. I sign contracts on home loans, car loans, things like that not for a damn dog!
