Like anything pure breeds can through great variations in size and looks, no 2 of anything are identical unless they are clones. In Semencic's book "Fighting Dogs" there's a pure bred APBT nearly 100lbs(45kg) at 9 months and I've personally seen a bona fide 72lb(33kg) SBT (not a Amstaff). Having said that it pays to be suspicious with so many liars and BS artists crossing dogs with anything. Also even though ther have been 90lb champions it's rare because Gameness seems a lot harder to come by with the bigger dogs. Most famous champions arn't real big.(could be not enough terrier in the mix?) Oh well that's another on going argument I'll leave to the experts.

do you have any more pics of that dog? I've never seen an irish staffordshire bull terrier before, he looks remarkably similar to the old drawings of the blue paul terriers.

  3. Being heavy or being too fat is no good for all kind of dogs..

For me, the best weight for an adult pit should range from 45lbs-55lbs.. Of course this is not advisable to the bully types.. That's why they are called bully for being heavy boned, big heads so mostly bully types goes 55lbs-70lbs.. When my Standard UKC pit reached 6mos she weights 30lbs..

    This is just my opinion..
