Re: Any info on the "Loposay Strain"?

Yes, I'll post here on www . game - dog . com and let everyone know when my book is available. To ensure a spot on the list e-mail me your Name, Address and a WORKING phone #. My wife keeps the list updated and sends replys to all e-mails concerning the book. PM me for my e-mail if you don't have it. "fYi", ..... The publisher has given me a tentative delivery date of sometime during the fall of 2013. The book is actually the first of three in a collectors set (series). The first book will have 400 pages in it. I've financed this project 100% myself which wasn't easy or cheap. Sure I could have stapled some typed paper together and had a local copy & print center bind it but, I absolutely refuse to settle for second best, discrace J.R. Loposay (Mr. Jim's father) and especially Patsy Loposay's name and legacy like that. Hopefully once all of the first 500 books are sold, then I can print the second book (another 400 pages) with a limited edition of 500 also. If both the first and second set of books sell quick I will then print the third and final book of the colllectors set (series). The Loposay's have already been slandered enough for five life times and then some. This book is not that type of book. This book is fact, not fiction with never before known or shared information with the general public including documentation to back it up. 25 copies have already been pre-sold. I hope those who've purchased those will share their reviews honestly so others will want to purchase them as well. I'm not in this for the money or fame. So trust me when I say that once they're all sold I will be in this project upsidedown financially nomatter what I do. All I want is to preserve the history of the Loposay bloodline and to tell the truth, the real truth behind the Loposay Bloodline. I have just asked a Greenwood to write the "preface" and an oldtimer as well who has graciously accepted so, theoretically there may be two prefaces

BADDCLYDE, No offence to you either Sir but, I wasn't there when the situation you described allegedly did or did not happen therefore, in good conscience I can not comment nor prepetuate a discussion on a topic based on, "he said she said"and "babies mama drama saga" (an analogy of sorts if you will) that is plainly aimed to simply destroying a woman's reputation who has done more for the breed as a whole all by herself than several good male oldtimes twice her age whom I've had the distinct honor and privilege of knowing in my lifetime. Is Patsy perfect? NO, and neither am I by no means. Are you sir? Henry Miller once wrote; "The imperfections of man is his frailties and his faults are just as important as his virtues. You can not separate them. They're wedded together", in other words... No one is perfect, that's why pencils have erasers! Like I said before, my Book is a "Historical Book" baised solely on the Loposay Bloodline with documented and pictorial evidence to prove everything in it, no rumors, inuwindows or allegations. Mysteriously though since exclusively posting the tentative release date of my book here on gamedog here, I have had two seperate visits to my yard. One from my local County Sheriff's Department, the other from my local Animal Control who ended up complimenting me, "and I quote" on, "what a nice set up... you keep it cleaner than our shelter workers do". They also added how healthy my dogs are and when I offered to show them their medical records they said it wasn't nessary because the anonymous callers alleged claim that my dogs were emaciated was clearly unfounded. (the "Chief" animal control officer was one of the two animal control officers that came out here and we actually knew each other because he owns a dog off my yard that I bred plus the local shelter uses my best friend, who is a liscened veterinarian and dogman.) ATT# to all readers of this or previous post made by myself on this forum and in this thread; LEGAL DISCLAIMER: The stories in my book will and do not necessarily reflect those of myelf or the the Loposay family therefore they should be viewed strictly as entertainment and for historical purposes only. I nor the Loposay family neither promote or condone any violations of the "Animal Welfare Act of 1976", the Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act of 2007, the Federal Depiction of Animal Cruelty Act and or any other Local, State or Federal Laws. Again, my book should be viewed strictly as entertainment and for historical purposes only.

Very Interested in your book Jack.

If you could PM your email. I'd like to get on the list. No problems giving you my info. I only keep pets. Animal control and sheriff welcome to come snuggle with my dogs like we do. ;) look forward to reading your book as well. I keep many books from the breed. Paper last a long time. Internet can die tomorrow and loads of good info lost forever. With books my grand children can read about the dogs Grandpa loved as much as life.

    Thanks
    Jeff

My dad and I drove down from OH to purchase a pup from Patsy in 2001. We picked a black brindle male by her Jacob out of her Cinnamon bitch. We had a horrific rollover accident in TN on the way home and she called us frequently to check on the wellbeing of us and the pup.
He turned out to be just as good as advertised and yes, there is a fair bit of Colby way back as well as the cajun stuff in his pedigree.
The cons: a larger dog than we typically work with, hardheaded and lazy, difficult to condition.
The pros: mouth, mouth, and more mouth. I can't put into words the kind of strength and GO he had when he was motivated and he isn't a bad looking dog.
he was never purchased to be campaigned, just tested hard to improve on the mouth on my dad's dead game lines.
Dad's quit the sport after trouble with the people and remarrying and my military career doesn't support that lifestyle. The Loposay dog has been my house pet and drag racing buddy for some years now.
Being a woman brought up in the sport by my dad, I have a ton of respect for Patsy. We haven't spoken in years and I'm sorry to hear she's not well. I'm even more saddened, or pissed to hear that someone would drag her name through the mud with those kind of accusations.
We bought a bitch pup from a certain well known dog man in LAFAYETTE, LA and she grew up to be the prettiest and MEANEST monster we ever owned. When it came time she turned out to be a stone cold CURR. I never thought it right to publicly criticize a man who has earned his spot in history. There's always a bad apple or someone who has a bad experience.
CHATNJACK, if you are interested in some vintage pedigrees, stories, and the like, feel free to contact me.

  10. Re: Any info on the "Loposay Strain"?

True, I don't know you and honestly don't care. What you say may be true, and there may be another side to the story. Lots of stolen dogs have ended up all over the country, including some that I personally had a hand in breeding and rearing. I'm sorry you had such a shitty experience, I've had plenty as well and I don't think there's a person who's done anything with bulldogs that hasn't been shafted a time or three... That's the nature of the beast. I am merely backing up what I know and have seen first-hand. Trust me, we never got money, a pup, a "sorry," or a "go to hell" over the situation I mentioned in the post above.
Yes, I was alive in the 80s and my family had good dogs long before that so I don't know what you're getting at.
Bottom line, you got screwed whether it was done purposefully or not and that sucks, but there are still plenty of people who have had good experiences with Ms. Loposay as well. Let's not turn this into a pissing match.

The guy was just telling about his experience, just like you did. Nothing to argue over or to defend Ms Loposay over as you dont know.

How hard is it to replace a dog with a dog just to stay right. Even if you had nothing to do with the stealing, you know it will come back some time.Karma the bitch.
