Breeds that made the pitbull we know today

G'day all , first post so please bear with me ,
I have a bet going with a bloke that is about what breed of dogs make up the pitbull we know today. He believes that it has hound in it and I dispute that , can anyone out there please enlighten me or give me the answer if it does or does not have hound in it

No hound in pit. Although there is a dispute on the Terrier used to create the breed. The most agreed mixture I've heard is Old English Bulldog x White Terrier. There is a lot of info online on the issue.

I believe theres anything that showed to be game or a badass winner at the time in todays dogs. There's to many storys of years ago told about crossing this and that into them. Its a good topic to argue about because nothing can be proven. Unless you are there and see it bred and keep the bitch under lock and key theres a chance something could happen. Bird dogs, hounds or anything could be in the mix. If you're feeding it and you're happy with it who cares.

 

Does anyone know of any good working bull terrier kennels if so could i see an example of one please not my cup of tea but my uncle has 2 females he works and are rather good hounds he is looking to get hold of a male worth his salt

i used to own a all white EBT. you can really see the similarities of the two breeds. i have always wondered if long ago during the James Hinks days of the EBT if there was ever a cross of the two back in those old 1890's era of the EBT. i say that because we have all white APBT's also. i wonder if that comes from the all white EBT's of the past. i would not doubt it or doubt if hounds, greyhounds, or anything else were used in those old old days of the breed. i think what ever worked in the pit was bred and inbred/linebred around until pure. just my 2 cents. i really do enjoy EBT's they have a very clowny personality, but are way to hyper for no damn reason.

 

Been around a few thunderrock dogs, I'd have one!!!
