That does not mean he will be a stronger dog, no. It does mean however that he should not contract Parvo again. Just be sure to stay dilligent on a vaccine protocol. As far as putting weight back on, google the 'Satin Ball' recipe, or even do a search on this forum. I'd have to say, those Satin Balls are a sure way to pack some weight on a sickly dog.

Here's an example for ya. I aquired/saved this dog from someone last year. She was at death's door when I first brought her home. I used Satin Balls for her daily. The 'before' photo was the day we got her home. The after photo was about 8 weeks later. The distention in her abdomen come to find out, was caused by a massive hookworm infection, and stage 3/4 heatworms! She was also Anemic. $1400 later.......she's as close to 'right' as she can be.
Anyway, I'm tellin ya, the Satin Balls are the way to go for weight gain!

As far as contracting parvo, if exposed to the parvo virus, he may not contract the disease symptoms again, as the antibodies to fight off the vitus will already be present in his body. However, if any dogs are present that are not up to date on their vaccines, they run the risk of contracting the disease from any dog exposed to parvo, immune or not, at least that is how a vet once explained it to me.

Because of the effects that parvo has on a dog's immune system it is crucial that all of the treatment that a vet prescribes be adhered to. Otherwise any dog that has not been fully treated or that has not resumed or reinitiated its vaccine program runs a higher risk of contracting some infectious illness.

And no this is 'not true because his body fought off the virus' He sought treatment and treatment is what kept the virus out while allowing the dogs body to develop an immunity. This immunity is what will allow the dog to be a HOST to the virus. Meaning he can certainly infect your yard, but himself wont show symptoms.
