There is a member on here that has 1 I think, with some other dogs. Maybe they will read and let us know about how active/effective they are. I have never owned one, but they remind me of a land shark

Thought that was the Seal you quoted. All good. Hard to see the shape of the dogs head, but the ear set looks different then the modern ones.

 

This pic was around 1943 or 1944. The conformation wasn't "official" by then I reckon.
Also, most likely the breeders in England had different preferances than those in America.
I admit, Willie didn't have the "egg" shaped head you see today.

Cliff I watched that documentary about pedigreed dogs and they pointed out the changes in the EBT's head holy crap they don't look anything like they do now. And according to the documentary it's because show breeder's breeding for the show ring and having little regard for breeding practices just breeding for looks screw everything else like function ect. They also showed how the German Shepherds looked back then wow such a drastic change that's for sure! Interesting stuff to say the least.

 

I agree, I have to say I knew most of what's in that documentary beforehand however, because I have friends with working GSDs and working Basset Hounds. When I was little I had ONLY seen working Basset Hounds, the first time I saw an AKC show Basset I was disgusted and appalled! So many breeds are not the healthy dogs that they once were...

yes sir nice brindle I do know the brindle have less skin prob than the all white The skull deforms more with each generation my white ebt head piece is far more eggshaped than my female I got them from different people. They are very different in temperament.
Like I said I dont know about them being human aggressive my dogs love my boy and the only time they show sighns of agression is when their is other dogs near my boy sometimes I walk them to their school maya has even been peted by my boys teacher and once at the beach
so many people alot of old timers really had to stop and meet her one lady even picked her up and gave her a hug. In addition to Patton's Dog.
I heard of another air force pilot that had one also and was also allowed on base.

 

a coloured bull terrier is an ebt x stafford way back,thats probably why they don"t get as many health issues .

 

I had said earlier that I have read the brindles/others not wanted for show were discarded and found their way into other peoples hands, that were into other things with their dogs ...and these dogs must have has some capability in the early times for sure! Likely explains early crosses, and the head shape changing.....

I learned something today by actually sending the Colby fam an image of bullfrog along with info on where I got him.
He said "what a fine looking dog bullfrog is". So I mean after reading alot of negative remarks I got some solid ones
I have a guy driving 75 mile to come see him and one guy from vegas coming later in the week.
Its all perception they keep calling for my EBT but I dont think I am going to breed them this year.

I am not a breeder I am a photographer and designer who owns Colby dogs I dont breed my dogs all the time
I dont breed for looks they just have them the consistency was awesome 3 just like mom and 3 just like dad
I am telling you I could care less about a dog fighting I just want intelligence athletics and drive period.
