I'm against it, but curious as to what people think. I think it's just more of the owners responsibility who gets bred and who doesnt. And i guess if you cant handle an agressive dog, then maybe get it nuerted ... but better yet dont get an apbt if you dont want an agressive dog haha. What yall think.

all depends- there is no generic answer, its dependent on each case.
for me i prefer to spay, neuter later on in life if the dog shows no signs of breeding potential, or the show career is over.
what works for me will not work for all

Neuter. Mostly it's guys who feel bad for takin' a guys nuts or people too lazy to deal with a bitch in heat that say otherwise. But neutering is the least risky of the two surgeries and I care about my dogs' health, not convenience, and I know a dog don't give an ass rats if his balls are there or ain't, so I neuter. FWIW neuter is cheaper also, but that doesn't matter to me.

I've personally known a person who fixed his dog since he wasn't gonna breed him or show him, due to a vet's advice.
This person thought all was good, then bam, his dog attacked another dog later.
My mother owns a spayed female Boston Terrier, and she hates other dogs and still likes to scrap.

IMO these dogs were born with the urge to scrap. Fixing them may slow down the drive,
but they will always have it in 'em. Especially if descended from a well established and proven strain.
There will always be a "sleeping giant" in these dogs, that can wake up.
Some get the fire early, others get it up to 2 to 3 years old. Varies from pup to pup, dog to dog.

Yeah, speutering a dog ain't gonna fix the DA, so good luck with that.

Damn, mine as well kept em on. Makes sense. Sounds like it's hit or miss with the nuetering. I was deciding between a male and female. I was going to get a female thinking it would make an easier house dog. But then came the heat cycles. Instead I decided to go with a male. They can make good inside dogs too but that's hit or miss too. I still want the potential for him to breed.

  12. Neither. If you can be responsible enough to prevent accidental breedings then I don't see the problem. Some people aren't that responsible and I think that fixing their dogs is a good idea.

Any dogs that aren't workers here get fixed and moved on.

If you're doing it for temperament reasons then think again. As others have said, it makes little to no difference in temperament/DA etc. Training would be much more effective.

I think all mutt's should be spayed/neutered they should never be bred so why keep them in tact . There are plenty of idiots out there who can't handle these dog's and shouldn't be allowed to own them and since you can't hit them in the head with common sense their animals should be spayed/neutered. Fixing a dog does not alter their genetics DA is in them no matter what so that theory is pretty much irrelevant when referring to this breed. If your not planning on breeding, or showing, or your just an all around idiot who can't manage/handle DA or animals in general you should spay/neuter your pet or hand them over to someone who can.

I want to add that if both were good for breeding and could only not fix one I would keep the male intact for the simple
reason that he can breed to many a fine bitch but the female should always IMO only have a limited amount of litters.

now that you actualy put in an opinon visiongee, its a good one i think lol i'd have to agree.

I disagree with you there. There's health benefits to keeping dogs intact so if a responsible owner wants to keep their mutt intact but not produce any litters than I don't see the harm.

I mean does it really have to come down to people filling out a fukin app. to see who is elligable of owning the breed hahaha

As many dumb ass people as there are in the world today it would probably help but it would be like everything else. There would be corruption or loop holes and the wrong people would still have them.
