UFC 120 Georges St-Pierre vs Jake Shields

I gotta go with my good Canadian boy.He just has so many tools.Not to mentoin such a honorable fighter with alot of respect for the game.

 

I haven't seen Shields compete but after watching GSP take apart BJ Penn (who I considered to be a fairly reasonable fighter) my money would be on the Canadian.

 

gsp is in a different league, shields will probably be the first one to shoot a take down. his single leg shots are deep and up by the hip not the calf and knee. this card seems like it will have some good fights on it, but I have thought that before and had the rug pulled right out from inder me.
Jon Jones has all of a sudden hurt his hand, this is a good thing for rashad. I feel he should have a few tune up fights before he fights for a title again. Jones and Silva fight would be ok, but silva is also in a league of his own as a fighter.

 

Jake Shields is a great fighter and a good dude, but GSP right now is virtually impossible to bet against at 170.

Jones is in a leage of his own. He would kill silva. I got Gsp winning by decision.

 

The first rule every MMA fan learns is ANYTHING could happen at anytime. Anyone could win on a given night. Anyone could lose. And everyone loses at some point. With that being said I gotta go for Shields, BUT think GSP will take it. GSP's just a beast and well rounded fighter. Shields has not lost in 11-12 fights? And that's for a reason. I HOPE Shields catch him sleeping and lock in a nice submission. REALITY tells me GSP will dominate, like he does everyone and grind out a decision.
IF GSP get's the "W" I see him fighting Anderson Silva (at Middleweight) and/or Nick Diaz down the line. Cesar Gracie's team has MMA on lock right now.

 

i fell asleep in the 3rd & woke up @ 5 & it was just as boring as the first 2 rd. jake looked like shit gsp wasn't much better last night. homonicik came to fight i want to see remach in rio this summer. randy would of been better staying home. first flying tryangle i ever seen at that level that mexican kid pulled off on that midget.

 

GSP is the most boring fighter I ever did see. The judge that gave him every single round must be sucking his nuts. Shields was scared silly going in and pussy footed around the first 2 rounds. If he would have been sticking in them rounds like he did the last 2, not only would he have had GSP's eye completely shut he might of won the fight. Needless to say he really didn't impress me either. BORING!

A few other decent to good fights. Homonick is def game! I'd def say he will have more chances in the UFC. That hematoma was unbelievable!!!

Yes the flying triangle was awesome too! The dude he fought wasn't a midget. That was just one long gangley ass motherfucker!!! LOL

 

This a case of where "styles make fights". GSP played it safe as always...and Sheilds is not aggressive enough either, especially in the stand-up which is pretty crappy.

i hoped GSP would have fought a different fight, but he is the point king. guess he has given up on being a finisher. when he gets hurt bad it throws him off his game, his corner man is good, " you got another eye it'll be alright". homminick was a pretty good fight but jose's highlight footage was WAAAAY better than that fight. randy went to sleep (shrug shoulders). after the fight the announcers said sheilds didn't have any stand up any way, kinda robotic, that's not the way the sold him that's for sure. not worth 50 bucks, but what am i gonna do?
