FML! anti tethering ordinance passed

Attach a dog to a running line, pulley, or trolley system as long as said method is not intended as a means of permanent containment;

The above is accepted - you could rotate this with pens/kennels?

 

The first time they come out they can either cite you, or give u a warning and a time period to correct the issue. Depends on where you are

 

Ew they snuck a mandatory spay and neuter clause in there for anyone who wants to tether at any point (unless they literally stand there with the dog).

What happened to assuming human beings were reasonably intelligent and letting them make their own choices rather than just banning everything to prevent something that may not even happen in the vast majority of situations? The whole law is shitty overall and will do nothing to stop anyone who is "abusing" the tie out method, it will just punish people who are trying to responsibly contain their dogs. Chains don't abuse dogs just like guns don't stand up and fire on their own. Anything negative that happens is the result of an individual who should be dealt with on an individual basis, banning something to prevent a minority of the population from doing harm is just stupid, it only hurts the majority who used whatever was banned in the proper manner.

 

they said you can use the pulley system but they still say its has to be only during a temporary task

temporary task (e.g. cutting the grass, washing a car, gardening) that requires the dog to be restrained for a short period of time to a stationary object.

they have so much stipulations its crazy!

 

Green, the pully system is on a seperate numbered line than that text - it says you can do ANY of the following and gives a numbered list

#1 is use the pully system as long as its not permanent (24 hours a day)
Item #3 says you can tether to a stationary object (not a pully system) as long as it is for a temporary task like mowing the lawn.

So I think you could use a pully system for a good part of the day if you rotated it with pens to make it "not permanent". However, all of your hounds would have to be fixed to be on the pully.....

 

You show some of your dogs right? You might be able to call and see if there is an exemption clause to the spay and neuter part for "show dogs".

 

stupid people were not properly culled, stupid people bred, then stupid people decide to own dogs. Thus ruining it for anyone with a brain. Becuase of the poor choices stupid people made now self appointed "good" people feel the need to think for everyone and convince law makers to create laws that restrict the majority while the stupid people are too stupid to follow the laws while the people with a brain are busy raising children, feeding their family and caring for their animals that they will soon no longer be allowed to own.

these dogs deserve better people have been arrested and charged several times for going into people yards and "stealing/rescueing" their dogs.

I dont understand how a group that constantly breaks the laws, can get laws passed.

 

my town passed a very similar ordinance back in 07 and it str8 dismantled the dog game around here. the animal control gave us like two months to get things together. after that they started handing out fines and heres the greedy part around here they fine the same account per dog so if 7 dogs on chains they gave out seven fines. they want our dogs to have a 10 by 15 living space if their gonna be on runners. seem like my town passed it right after the mike vick situation. my towns officals main augrement was their opinions that chaining a dog made them aggersive. and some of these animal control workers around here think they're police officers ,very ugly situatioin dealing with these kinda ordinance. HERES A ORDINANCE I WISHED THEYD PASS .....MAKE THOSE DAM ANIMAL CONTROL WORKERS TAKE FITNESS PHYSICALS AND MET FITNESS REQUIREMENTS. seem like out here they dont even go @ and pick the strays up anymore around here str8 suckz.good luck if you're having to deal with silly ordinances like this

 

ordinance people if you're reading this MAN BEEN CHAINING UP DOGS FOR HUNDERDS OF YEARS. every time you pass a silly ordinance like this it causes more harm to the animals then help but what would yall care about a dogs well being. and with the country as a whole being in hard times right now why you wonna figure out ways to cause people to go out and have to spend money. and why do you create aveunes to be able to control and tax folks when there is not much good that every come out these kinda ordinance. do you realize that you have elder people getting fined for having dogs on chains and some isolated cases these are older folks living on fixed in come. and what about the peole who cant afford to put up kennels and runners what about the dog owners who has put years in to maintaining a good yard. law makers what you're doing is unjust and controlive. you may try to fool people by saying your actions are becuz of such n such reason but it clear to see that your laws target certain groups of dogs . to all my doggers if you know of an offical in your aera that support these kinda ordinances they just gave you one reason to vote come next election time. remember we vote the people in who pass ordinances and laws and if they are tryna control the way people own a dog you can only imagine what else they would go after whenever the CONTROLBUG hit them agin

 

Call anonymously and explain that you own show dogs and are making an inquiry as to if you can get some sort of exemption to the part of the law that says any dog on a tether has to be fixed. Call from a pay phone if you are worried about them knowing who is calling, I don't blame you.

Better than the anti-tethering ordinance that we have in my county...The ordinance is so strict that the code is not even very long.

We also have a 3 dog limit before needing a kennel license...

 

thers times when i wish i lived over the pond n times when i think fook that what the hell is going om in the supposed civilzed world we wont be able to go toilet soon without being taxed and told what size dump we can take soon be controls on how many breaths a day we can take
