Ped ?

Can someone help me with this ped?

Got a friend who swears up and down that this dog is a A.P.B.T I told him that it has some staff in there but he doesn't think so. Is anyone here familar with any of these dogs? And, if so, give me a little bit more info on them.

 

Knowlwood dogs are am staffs. they go back to the AKC Ruffian am staffs. im pretty sure that larum dogs are am staffs too. Ped looks like a grade A AmStaff ped to me, my friend. In fact, I can't really find any APBT in there at all after giving it a good once-over.

 

that's 100% Amstaff...... tell him to start reading what the differences are between a UKC/AKC registered pitbull vs an ADBA registered pitbull and hopefully he will see that MANY years ago they were seperated from the working dog to the show dog (which is what that ped is... 100% show dog)..
I know how you feel Mac... my tenant has a bully dog and swears up and down that they are exactly like my gamedogs....

 

well i did find a small fraction of APBT on back in the ped a ways. But your friend owns an AmStaff, plain and simple.

 

Thanks yall, I read that ped for about an hour and a half and came up with the same conclusion as yall. I guess people just don't want to feel like that got took for a load of money, I'd be pissed too. But, what kills me is, this person has a degree from a high end school and is very smart all the way around. Someone gased him up and if the owner of this or any dogs in the above dogs ped reads this, please pm me. Does anyone know any of these dogs or have a link to any of the kennels that produced these?

 

ive seen discussions on the Nevada dogs before. not my thing, but theyve had a boatload of titled dogs

as soon as an amstaff steps into the [].is he still an amstaff regardless of the outcome ?

 

just because a dog is registered UKC doesnt make it an AmStaff. if its dual registered AKC/UKC, then were talking AmStaff. the guy i got one Riot from would register some of his Colby dogs thru the UKC, and you wouldnt call them an AmStaff would ya?

Thanks Lee D for that link. I called the breeder of that dog and she confirmed what I thought, Iceman has Staff in him. After telling my friend this, he has yet to reply to my message and I think it hurt his ego, as he has to be right all the time. I only wish you all could see the convo between me and him and some of the things he has been gased up to beleive. Truth hurts and ignorance runs rampid.

UKC does register and is an APBT registry. If you have ADBA papers on your dog you can dual reg. it with UKC as long as it meets the standard as so far as color goes. The bad thing is that you can also reg. your AKC Amstaff with UKC and YES many ADBA APBT have "staff" blood in their peds. but are still reg. APBT !! I have a line of dogs that have a touch of X-Pert in the 7th or 8th gen and they are ADBA CH's ! Genetically the are mostly Eli/Carver but there is staff in there.

The highest ranked dog in the history of the ADBA has staff blood way back there.

The whole Amstaff vs APBT was politics in the begining and yes the registries went different direction over time. Today we do have seperate BUT related breeds and also dogs that are papered both as Amstaff's and APBT's.

 

lots of "real" APBTs registered thru the UKC. just because it wont conform to the UKC standard doesnt mean you cant register an ADBA standard purebred dog.
