My lucky day..Got a Grand Carpet Mill for $100

Discussion in 'Products & Equipment' started by Mathematic, Jan 25, 2011.

  1. I was actually in the mind frame of attempting to build a slatmill but i kept putting it off. This went on for about 5-6 months...debating if i should build or just fork up the money $400-$500 and buy a brand new one...I looked at a couple mill makers recommended by some of you guys.

So one day i decided to search craigslist and found a slightly used on for $200..I called, no answer and i left my cell and work # on the message. after a week goes by...i called again...just to see if it was sold or not...no answer..after about 3 weeks i get a call at my job...it was the lady that was selling the mill...she said she was out of town and didn't want to say that over the phone that's why she never called back. we chat it up for a couple minutes and i ask her about the price (just to get a confirmation) and she says " I know i had it up on craigslist for $200 but I will give it you for $100"..:) My eyes lit up like two Christmas trees..$200 was a great price but $100 is beautiful...lol.. I went and got it the next day...

great deal man! i wouldnt be suprised if the person followed you home. lol

  4. Thanks....

lol @ following me home...She was an older lady. She was in the process of moving out out of state...I guess she wanted to get a quick sale. Initially she said she had other callers but I was the first to call her, so she wanted to do the right thing and call me back...and i couldn't have thanked her enough.

I've only had it for a week now and my boys wont touch it. I guess i have to get them used to it..

any tips would be highly appreciated...

Good find. That is however a carpet mill and not a slat mill.Great piece of equipment but has a different use than a slat. There is plenty of info on the site describeing the differences.
