Sorry but I just need to vent about this pos little dog that I am watching for my brother who is off at college. So I went against the wishes of my husband and told my little brother that I would watch his Pomeranian for a while till he can get a place that accepts dogs. Anyways long story short, the SOB bit my husband while he was petting him, then tried to bite me when I was getting it off my bed (going to grab its collar) and then tried to bite me again. Soooo I called up my brother and told him the dog is staying in his damn crate until he gets the dog out of my house (it goes out to for bathroom and watering/feeding purposes only). He said fine but is giving every excuse in the book as to why he might have done that and that he never tried to bite him. I am so sick of owners of small dogs like this (not all are like that). Ones that make excuses for the damn things. Ones that think its ok for them to bite people cause they're small. But if it was one of my dogs then they would be the same people telling me to shoot it (which I would and want to do with this dog).My co-worker is telling me to give the damn thing another chance. Nope, sorry not in my home. Not that I ever leave my kids un-supervised with any dog, but I don't this dog around them at all. Anyways, you get my point. Sorry for the rant..

Trust me I want to take it out back myself...but I'll give my brother a few days, if not the dog (rat with fur) will find itself walking in the woods somewhere. I completely agree newdogg99...my kids safety means more to me and thats why the prick is in a crate all the time. Honestly, he barely wants to come out of his crate because hes so scared of me now...Oh and no I think my brother is one of the last people that shoudl own a real dog. A rat with fur is perfect for him..lol.

Don't feed him for 24 hours. Then only hand feed him. That may modify the behavior. Worth a shot.

  9. Hook him up to an electronic treadmill.Run the piss out of him!! Then feed and water by hand.He MAY gain a little more respect for you if he's smart enough to recognize who's callin the shots. FRIEND

Treadmill is an excellent idea! He may buck and burn his pads but if you MAKE him work for you, he will have a new respect for who is in charge. Sit in front while he is running and praise him when he is doing it right. I've seen it work first hand.

break the little rat, work him til he is shattered and doesnt have enough energy to kick off, my dad rescued a JRT that was a nasty piece of work he walked it and walked it till it was exhausted then hand fed it and never had a problem afterwards probably one of the most loyal dogs iv ever met and has faced death in the eyes without backing down for my dad.

Good luck with the little sh*t and if it doesnt work out.......

agreed! excersize him til he drops! He is still just a dog regardless of size, a tired dog is usually a satisfied dog!

Another thought, most toy dogs are hypoglycemic, after getting him tired out and settled down You might think about having him checked cause sometimes that is the cause of them being crabby....
