If your going to run a quantum physics class......what is reality, which plane are you experiencing. Does the fact that observation will alter the true outcome or is a 2D projection from the comsic hologram, creating our experience. :D

Lets stick to bulldawgs shall we ;)

4: a concept whose truth can be proved; "scientific hypotheses are not facts"

fact - Definition of fact at Define.com Dictionary and Thesaurus (define fact)

    • S: (n) fact (a concept whose truth can be proved) "scientific hypotheses are not facts"
    WordNet Search - 3.0

I would expect that Princeton University literature would be peer reviewed.

Theory becomes repeatable fact by using the scientific method to test it. Any scientific research paper that you read is, at it's very core, attempting to test an hypothesis by means of a verifiable, repeatable, model or procedure.

Lastly, the reason that I qualified fact, is to show that there have been so many verified, repeatable, studies done on genetics that scientists now know for a FACT how cells divide, how alleles (genes) are passed, inherited by the progeny, and therefore act on the proteins that form the very building blocks of life. All they have to do now is observe them through a high-powered electron microscope. They can actually watch it happen right before their eyes.

Good question Junebug. "Repeatable," in a scientific sense means that no matter how many times it's repeated, the end result is always the same. In mathematics, repeatable means that a result has the "ability" to repeat. But in science, an end result means nothing if another scientist can perform an identical study and get a differing result.

The example was given as a celestial event since that's what humans have based time recording on since man first began to record time. The link below describes the first known calendar and how it came to be as well as subsequent calendars by other cultures.

Calendar -- from Eric Weisstein's World of Astronomy

Lol....well I can tell by your responses that you didn't just fall off of the turnip truck. Your obviously intelligent--not that your intelligence was ever in question:).

In response to your brain-teaser above....I'm sure your well aware that science is an on-going quest to answer those things which may or MAY NOT be provable now or in the future----in short, science is open-ended. Just like your question above :D.

I believe that I've answered the questions that have been asked of me. Now yes, I too would be happy to get back to bulldogs.

no where in the def. you provided does the word "repeatable" or theory appear.

"Theory becomes repeatable fact by using the scientific method to test it. Any scientific research paper that you read is, at it's very core, attempting to test an hypothesis by means of a verifiable, repeatable, model or procedure."

What is the exact source of the above description you provided? Who is the author? in what context was the above statement made? How is that statement/position viewed historically? Do you see the problem with the definition? misuse of words and concepts. Some very smart people have had this conversation and have come to the conclusion that a theory of something is the highest knowledge we can hope to attain. Feynman talks about degrees of knowing something.............................. Btw, a fact doesn't have to be repeatable, Gould is famous for saying that if you ran the evolutionary tape again, we probably would not be here. Yet, it is a fact that we are here with out repeatable evidence;)

Would you normally find these concepts in a quantum physics class? I think high-energy physicist (among a number of other sub-disciplines), social scientist, mathematicians and cosmologist would have something to say about that. Do you even understand what you stated? Can you tell me what R.L position is on "cosmic holograms" (as you put it)?

Btw, I never stopped talking about dogs.As you get older you'll come to realize that it is all dogs..................Here is an example: Not unlike dogs, when your wiping your ass after taking a shit you don't want to half-ass it (literally);). some say coprology and others say dogs 101

I just have one question......do you always have to "pick the fly shit out of the pepper"? Really?

All I said originally on the subject was that you can't make some blanket statement about how one gender affects the progeny more than another without knowing if that gender is BREEDING TRUE for those specific traits. THAT'S basic genetics. Then y'all wanna go on about a bunch of technicalities in an attempt to somehow prove me wrong, as if proving me wrong somehow makes someone else right.

I didn't DO the genetic research that we now have knowledge of, I just learned it like the rest of us have. The scientists and geneticists have already done all of the work up to this point to "prove" what we now accept as fact. If you guys want to continue to try to bust my balls on ridiculous technicalities, go ahead. I was originally speaking of GENETICS not quantum physics. I think we can all accept that one IS based on theory ALONE, while the other has been very thoroughly documented.

But don't expect me to waste my time playing this game, or having some intellectual pissing match. If you want to truly learn genetics, the information is easily found. If you want to continue breeding dogs based on wives tales and suspicions, go right ahead. They're YOUR dogs. Just don't go around preaching bullshit that science has shown to be false. Misinforming people is what holds us all back from achieving what we have the potential to.

Cant answer any more on reality till i find the higg's boson. If any of you two nick it give it back cos its screwing up my research and i cant sleep at night :D

I agree. I felt that you were "MISINFORMING PEOPLE". Do you see the irony?
A dogman with a number of decades of OBSERVATION states that he has witnessed a pattern and you dismiss his work by calling it "wives tales and suspicions"? (OBSERVATION is an important component in knowledge acquisition and representation----- another science word that you either don't appreciate or comprehend)
