bolio blood

I know to some,this my sound like an broken record.But this dogs seems to get left out of alot of conversations when the bolio strains come up.So i'll add him to this thread too.GR CH Cool Breeze was one of the best 3 out of 5 never made it out the door,let alone back home or maybe most dont know too much about him or maybe the fact that he wasnt bred out the a$$ could have an impact too.And the ones that said they are a tricky line to deal with, are 100% right and it will take yrs to be able to understand the strain in order to produce well adjusted dogs.....

i asked that question in a thread once as far as going with a lesser known bother or sister instead of just the big name sometimes... i just think you could build a good yard around dogs that arent as known as long as they good dogs... like i asked the old man how does he feel about straight battle crosses or a serious line-breeding type of breeding program... and he said "depends on what YOU want to do on your yard but i always go with percentages when it comes to making a breeding... what percentage of winners is the dog putting out" when it comes to big names but he also countered that with if you take an all around bulldog (not saying an ace) that comes from good stock and is lets say a bellymate to a particular dog he'd take the cheaper stud if he just had to have the blood... so i guess i said all that to say im wit you afro... i think ppl dont look hard enuff sometimes

 

That could be possible in working and it has before but before I jumped to that littermate, I would make sure to have opportunity to breed to the one that really caught my eye. This has been seen and could be disputed in many different forms. If I did do this it would have to be a litter I know and then have super high %.

true... so for instance you would have paid 1500 to breed to jeep instead of 500 to breed to charlie may be a bad example because they were both exceptional dogs but you catch my drift...

 

dogs are individuals, it makes absolutely no sense to breed to a littermate. you breed to the best dog available period. its not about the big name, its about the best dogs. thats considered paper breeding in my book jmo tho

That's one option.

I have time with her, so I'm weighing my options. But "Cody" and "Gi Gi" are my two favorite dogs, so more than likely it will happen.

Actual that is a good example, to bad we can argue this because it was truly unfair that charlie was constantly over shadowed by jeep, some say Charlie blood is stronger and tougher but there isn't enough of it around to say so. I agree a 100%, I wouldn't mind taking a dog off charlie, no sooner than jeep himself. The part of this that I can say, if you go for percentages, there has been a lot of dogs bred down from Bolio that couldn't produce like others in that line, many dogs down from these I feel shouldn't have been bred; I feel pedigree mattered more than the dog's abilities by far. I will always say this about Bolio, best or worst dog you will ever own.

*laughing* i never even looked at it as such... just because its always a crap shoot... because michael jordans sons arent shit and he's arguable one of the greatest ever but archie mannings sons are the shit and he was mediocre... so i look at the dogs definitely then you because you said its about the best DOG and im saying its about the best DOGS... and i guess im saying the best family for instance when i hear eli and maverick(not sure if maverick is an eli dog) i think boudreaux (sp.) as far as the man has a solid line of dogs... and i hate being a "jocker" so to speak i like walking on the wildside (no pun intended) *laughing* so if i feel as if someone had a dog comparable to said dog for a lesser fee then i go with that dog simply because they have the same genes in them ... going for one dog sounds more like paper breeding to me

*laughing* i love bolio is the best or worst dog you will ever own thats priceless... but yea thats the point i was trying to make initially sometimes i think ppl forget about damn good dogs chasing an ace
