If I could do it over i would do it different. Still what i did was to learn from.See i really see the Truth of the BYB Pit Bull as i have them now and had some from the past . I can tell you this when a PB is a real APBT they are safer with the human danger thing , the DA thing is the same if your a regular person as any dog can fight and what can happen in the 1 minute accident with an animal is all the same. I feel the BYB have a little unknown other in them. The other breed was put in them to make them biger i feel. So for me thats the concern with the BYB mutts they look like Pits but are just to big. No they are not APBT

Size should be the least of your concern.

A dog could apear idenical on the outside, doesn't mean it is on the inside or mentally.

I am a real purest that i have a strong belief in this - e true Pit Dog
fought with complete focus on only fighting a dog or other animal with complete calmness, that biting a human would not occur and if by accident they hit you they let go fast. when wounded as they used to be hurt plenty they should have compete trust in humans to be mended to . Since opposing dogs used to be wash by apposing owners human trust was developed stronger then other breeds along with the man biter temperament being cull out almost as strictly as a cur.
Hanging on to those traits with true APBT's that are not game tested now a days means those traits are fading especially with blue pits which seem more like a recent fad color not based on dogs from the DAY.
so now of course i see the BYB dogs are adding even more to the loss of the traits i just mentioned , those traits are the good by product of years of blood sports which are illegal and not easily duplicated from this day forward .
Now my dogs are nice dogs i just wish a little smaller like 45 to 50 pounds it is a little unnerving having dogs that a very - very strong and now i realize they probably don't have the byproduct traits that i consider very important, I have not had any real issues that i can shout about but realizing a little protection dog is in the mix , and in a dog you can't just push aside due to size is a little unnerving.

Always get dogs with a known background-that way you have an idea of how they will turn out- both physically and temperamentally. If you don't feel that you can confidently handle your dogs maybe they aren't for you.

I'll keep working with them , I have way more good then bad . my female is holding at 57 pounds and a year old she is APBT with some American bull dog so she is holding tight to a more APBT temperament the Male has lots of Red nose in him with that bit Cain Corso 65 pounds @ 8 months he is the one I hope the size thing does not get a way from me , i keep hearing dogs grow for 2 years I have found usually by 7 months it slows but i once did have a dog that at the 2 year mark was definitely bigger then at a year, I guess it's the unknown scattered breeding that i am not sure what the male will pick up on .
structurally my female looks done with a well balanced look very graceful fast running dog. My male dog at 8 months though still looks a little puppy like in size , that certain look a dog has like he has not grown into his body yet , still got a touch of puppy clumsy way, I've had dogs that grew very fast and then stopped at a year , he is a slow but steady grower
looks like a tight jowled - pit bull Cain Corso or ban dog , I have to say in both dogs defense there both fast running dogs that can leap and turn on a dime they are not like some fat bully type . they are real dogs, like i said i wish just smaller.

35 40 Pound MUTTS with same mix breed ancestry I'd be fine with. I like a dog i can pick up with no drama like the original pit from days gone by

I think my IQ just dropped a bit. Ok so what is this thread about? That you just realized they are mutts and want to know why they are still growing??? I dont; get it. so if you didnt want a bigger dog why have one that is part cane corso (aren't they bigger dogs??). Well who knows, he is part red nose so he may not ever stop growing!:rolleyes: Seriously I still think you shouldnt own dogs...but hey who they hell am I.
