• In the Contest Post, leave a comment with the quarter & how many minutes & seconds remaining in the quarter when you predict Michael Vick will be injured. For Example: 2nd, 4:53
• You must register your prediction by 8PM EST.

Only because he is famous, people do worst stuff everyday within the breed and it goes undisclosed. Mike Vick is an rare example of our so called justice system reforming someone and it working. Wish him harm, don't support him, but he will go down in history as one of the best black QB's of all time.

I don't care what you think you are supporting. That is not the motive behind that campaign, it's pure hate. An how do you know what the fuck i buy....ya don't!

 

I feel bad for Ed. No doubt, as I beleive that he comitted no crime. But if you have been around you would know that this is Ed's second bout with this. This is the difference between what he is serving and what MV served. An if your gonna be pissed about something.... be pissed about the law.

 

I don't want to get into a debate about Michael Vick, but I will tell you where I stand.

In my opinion, Michael Vick doesn't give a damn about the dogs. They were simply a money making venture for him, a chance to gamble. The manner in which he and his business partners disposed of under performing dogs made that apparent.

That forever condemned him in my eyes.

I have met Mr. Colby in person, I have seen the affection, love & respect he has for this breed of dog with my own two eyes. Have a look in my gallery, there is a picture of me with my daughter, my pit bull service dog & Mr. Colby that I posted back in 2006.

While there is NO comparing the two, a true dogman would not have killed his dogs the way Vick et al did. True dogmen take care of their dogs, tend their injuries, putting their own blood sweat and tears into maintaining and preserving the breed. Michael Vick saw dollar signs,

I may not agree with dog fighting, but I don't have to agree with someone in order to learn from them and respect them for their knowledge. The few dogmen that I have met conducted themselves with honor & respect towards their dogs.

Michael Vick may be one of the best quarterbacks at the current moment, but that does not and will never excuse the dishonor of how he treated his dogs.

good point and i seriously doubt Vick was doing it for money. You cant make the kinda money with dogs he was making with football and endorsements. I dont care who you are. $150 Million is ALOT of money

My public disdain stems from a number of things, the most recent being the younger cousin of Jamal (that's a story for another day) who called me up to tell me about Michael Vick's visit to his school in New Haven recently. The kids felt the message was "Don't get caught" not "Don't fight dogs".


As some here can tell you, I do a lot of good for this breed. The dog in my avatar is my service dog, who also does therapy visits at a number of facilities. Every time I step out my front door, we make a difference.

Birdie just received an award for 500 hours of community service this past summer.

The nursing homes we visit love her & have asked for more pit bull service dogs to come visit because the residents remember this dog from their youth. They don't enjoy the golden retrievers or the labs as much as the pit bull. We currently have 14 facilities on our waiting list.

We go to the VA Hospital where she races soldiers with prosthetic legs on the treadmills and shows our injured veterans what a service dog can do to make their lives easier and give them more independence.

We have helped train EMT's & firefighters how to treat patients with a service dog.

The hospital that I received radiation treatment at earlier this year asked us to make therapy visits because other patients sent in comments and letters stating that interactions with her made their treatments easier and she calmed them.

There will never be BSL in my town or the towns surrounding me because the residents have made it plain that they will vote out any official who attempts to pass it. All because of my pit bull, Birdie.

An MV is right don't get caught! Dog fighting is illegal.

 

For every shitie thing he has done to his dogs and the legistlation that his case helped pass. I certainly wouldn't want him to have an animal of mine. But that is neither here nor there. I'm disapointed that you posted something like that. And that continued campaign against MV may not affect you in your area. But on a national, local levels it affects us all as it keeps that negative image fresh in the mind. Continues to add fuel to that fire. MV has moved on and soon his debt will be paid to the HSUS and his community service days will be spent else where.

I still respect your community service but I don't respect or understand your hate campaign directed towards MV.

thats not shit! Do you think that your dog winning points and visiting some homes does as much good as the harm that happens when u feed fuel to the anti vick movement. Do you realize how much that event hurt the breed? The best thing that can happen for the apbt is for that to get out of peoples minds as soon as possible. Negativity isnt gonna do any good at all and your are giving the hsus and peta more ammo.
