Bomb shell tonight

I am saddened for the death of the 3 day old child that NG did a spot on , but clearly from the pics and movie trailer i saw that dog seemed psycho to me . I feel it is a huge injustice to human life when some one has a dog that in the hart of harts they must have known it had some kind of issue with aggression. I believe bad things happen with any dog , I just have a hard time ever believing the statement " the dog never showed aggression " Lets face who in there right mind after having there child get killed is going to say well "i loved my dog & some times he growled at kids and was a little scary around strangers" unless you want some jail time you always hear " he was great with people " any way i pray i never have that . I have not seen any aggression with my 2 dogs to wards me my family the cats But they are a little aggressive with each other

People don't seem to grasp the concept that dogs aren't born understanding infants are small humans, they look and sound and act like prey and dogs are predators. You wouldn't leave a pet bunny rabbit loose with a dog, why would you leave your newborn with one? It's prey drive plain and simple, it's not even truly "human aggression". Seems to occur at least 5 times a year, same damn story over and over, maybe hospitals and birthing classes need to do some common sense info for new parents on raising kids and dogs together.

why the hell would you leave any child let alone a 3 day old with a dog?

Well based on this over all statement a person could have any dog including a PB as a house dog and leashed any time out & never have there dog encounter a small animal with the dog in charge . So some one could have a dog great with people and not realize there dog is an good catch and kill dog. Hence the statement " he has always been great with people " I stand corrected since yes a 3 day old could seem like pray to a dog.

 

I found this news item & from what i see it was 2 dogs that caused the death of 3 day old baby , NG only talked about the Pit Bull but from what i see on the print side of it a GSD was also to blame , bolth dogs were put down so i think the GSD dog must have played a part

A 3-day-old boy has died after being attacked by his family’s pit bull in the Hardy County community of Rio, about 20 miles west of Moorefield.

Sheriff’s Deputy Melody Burrows says the baby’s mother had placed him in a crib and went to answer the telephone. The pit bull then entered the baby’s room along with a German shepherd. As the mother tried to get the dogs out, the pit bull grabbed the infant.

The mother choked the pit bull, but it wouldn’t release the child until another person cornered both dogs and pushed them through an open window.

Police haven’t identified the family.

Both dogs were euthanized. These dogs are have been known alot to kill children and they need to be banned from everywhere.

<!--startindex-->JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A newborn baby has died after being attacked by a pit bull at a Jacksonville home Sunday night.
Channel 4 spoke with the baby's father on Monday night. He said he and his family are devastated by the loss of their 3-day-old baby boy.
Police said they were called to the dog attack about 10 p.m. Jacksonville Fire Rescue said the baby was rushed to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center.
The baby's father told Channel 4's news director, Maureen Baker, that he and his wife left their baby for just a few seconds to use the bathroom. The father said that is when the dog attacked the baby.
The father said he and his family are grieving over the tremendous loss of their child.

The father said the family raised the pit bull since it was a puppy and that the dog never showed any signs of aggression toward anyone in their family.
An Animal Control spokesman said animal workers euthanized the red, young pit bull that was brought in Sunday night after it attacked the baby. Police, animal control officials and the Department of Children and Families are all investigating.
In a separate case Monday night, Manatee County deputies fatally shot a pit bull that charged them after attacking a 5-year-old boy in Bradenton. Authorities said the boy tried to climb a tree to get away, but the dog bit into his arm and tried to pull him down.<!--stopindex-->
