"Good dogs are where you find them"

I hear this phrase a lot "Good dogs are where you find them" but I also heard "Good dogmen are where you find good dogs" and I tend to believe this more. What do you think?

ill go w the first one. you can have a good and never kno it if you dont kno what ur doing. a good dogman can have success with decent dogs. ill agree that good dogs can make bad dogman look good but i would rather be a good dogman than have a good dog.

most people use the phrase with crap azz bred dogs hoping for a miracle, the 35 dog follows the quote a lot.

To me good dogmen breed good dogs consistently!!...but every now and then u can find a good dog anywhere!...if u can breed two cold dogs together and make a hot dog then IMO u can find a good dog anywhere!!..I kno this one dogman on here who told me he can make a good dog from anything!!...

Personally i dont dig the "good dogs are where you find them" quote its simply a loaded quote, and like slang seems to be coming out of someones mouth for the sake of it or to fill a gap in they couldnt fill in with somthing usefull, you very rarely hear what should be the rest of the quote which is, "good dogs are where you find them *and so are the shit ones* " . In hundreds of years of breeding and gr ch 35 is the best example anyone could come up with?
I liked it when i first read it but its been over used imo.

plenty of good dogs have been pedigree unknown, gr ch 35 is obviously one of the most well known, he after all was an 8 x winner in the fast lane, not a bad example i would say.
a good one is a good one regardless of what is known of his breeding.

While I agree with your post, shit dogs are found on every yard of bulldogs, real good ones are not.........jmo

Dred, you are right , my post was more of a whinge on how much the saying is thrashed instead of revered on what is the truth. ive heard id too many times.
