because there were dogs just north of boomerang that would of killed him like ch arty. that's the general opinion of folks i know that had history with both dogs. as for art & zebo good big beats good small 9/10.

Hmmm..would have luv to see that but Zebo and art would have been a classic!...both were 7x winners with Zebo having 7 kills!!...I think it's safe to say it would have been a HOF match!...every dogman across the country who have came for that one!

I thought Zebo had eight kills. One was a yard wreck, wasn't it?

I don't believe Greaser died from Zebo.I could be wrong

That wasn't Greaser's style .He would slip, slide and turn around he was a master defensive dog that wore others down. But Zebo did get him in the end.Zebo did have a hard time with Greaser though.

Gameness doesn't matter when u can bite like Zebo. But when you run into another beast like Art that could bite, wrestle, smart, and was game you better have gameness to win.Art wasn't going to roll over for any dog. There is an old saying an ace can't lose ,but when u put two aces down one is going to lose.Gameness does come into play.

I thought Greaser died as a result of injuries incurred from the match. I am probably thinking of a different dog/different match.

Really???..the fight was over within 35min if I'm not mistaken..that doesn't sound like a hard time to me!...if u are saying art is a ace then Zebo is a ace to cause they won the same amount of matches!!...did art ever go into a 4x winner??

Zebo - Greaser was Close to 2hrs , I dont recall if Art ever went into a 4x but if you check the recirds you will see he went into Top Flight Dogmen . Zebo killed the 1st 4 quick for MM , I will assume Greaser died also then Killed another for DA , was sold to Johnson where he won another I think if may have been over a son of Vindicator im not sure . I think Zebo -Boomerang was being talked about but for whatever resons never came off . Shame somebody stole Art I would have like too seen what a daughter of Art bred to Zebo would have produced

    ur right!...it went a 1h and 57min

Zebo was a ace without a doubt .I said that I believe .Zebo was in the center of the pit and Greaser was working Zebo over in the head area and Zebo was just standing there and looking around. That was in an article written by somebody in SDJ.If a match went 40 minutes or two hours it depends on the damage done in the match .Everytime Zebo got in he would bite hard and do damage to Greaser and eventually the owners decided to pick up Greaser. You also have to remember that Art was stolen while still in his prime.Art could bite also and when u have two swapping it out gameness does come into play. Art was very smart in the box and if he held Zebo out while biting him hard.Zebo might think about it a bit and who knows from there. Then Zebo could have busted Art up real bad early and eventually killed him.But don't think for one minute that Art wouldn't do damage to Zebo.Thats what makes this one so good.

It is a very good topic to debate, but thats pretty much all it is. I have always liked Zebo as a match dog, and contrary to what most believe he produced pretty good. Good enough to become an ROM. He was such a devastating and destroying dog, people were not too pleased that he didnt produce hiself or better. They wanted THE NEXT SURE THING! The hound who could give up 4lbs into a 4xw AND MAKE THEM PICK UP! To me thats hard to compete with!=EDGE ZEBO!

Well i saw both Zebo and Boomer in the 70s and Boomer was the best match dog i ever saw. Zebo was a rough old dog Boomer was just plan devastating

Flaw, yes Zebo was deadly to humans but that doesn't matter on what kind of match dog he was.He went almost 2 hours with a very game 4x winner and produced very good combat dogs.Zebo won 7 x and produced well. What else can u ask for?He wasn't a pet.I thought dogs like Zebo,Art,Pit General was very rare.So what are u trying to say? You would have culled Zebo?

According to Don Mayfield and Danny Burton. Pit General was the most devestating match dog ever!
